Metro Exodus developers 4A games haven't worked on a new game for quite some time, but that seems to be changing. The company is apparently moving away from the Metro 2033 and Metro Exodus universe on a brand new AAA IP.

Now that 4A games put the finishing touches on the enhanced version of Metro Exodus for the Xbox Series X/S and the PS5. This isn't even the first time the company has upgraded the look and feel of its games as the titles already span multiple generations. However, now that the upgraded version of Exodus launched, the company is apparently staffing up so it can turn its attention to something else entirely.

While 4A Games hasn't officially announced its next project after Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, the company apparently let the cat out of the bag with a myriad of job listings on its official website. In all, the company has listing for more than 30 positions and some of them specifically mention the job will entail working on a new IP.

It appears the company will devote an entirely new team to whatever the new project is going to be. There aren't many hints on just what they will be developing though it appears there are going to be some sort of creatures or monsters involved in the next story. One of the job listings is for a Creature Concept Artist New IP. Other job listings are Environment Concept Artist New IP and Senior Technical Artist New IP. Those are the only positions that specifically mention the new IP but several other positions talk about building a new game world.

This new IP does not appear to be the "multi-player spinoff" of Metro Exodus that 4A Games had previously talked about being in development. That could be why so many people are being added to the development team. It's possible the company plans on working on both titles simultaneously. So far, there's been no cancellation of that other unnamed game.

Other listings on the company's website talk about weapons and vehicles that are at least similar to those in Metro Exodus. For now, the company hasn't shed any light on what exactly is under wraps. There also hasn't been an official announcement that it is working on any new project at all. It seems unlikely this new game is going to launch anytime soon as an official reveal would have to come first.
