Following its recent beta for PC, PS4, and Xbox One about a couple of weeks ago, the full version of Konami's action-adventure game Metal Gear Survive is available now for each of the aforementioned platforms. Now, in order to celebrate the title's official release, the publisher and developer has put out the game's launch trailer, which provides an overview of its contents and shows off even more enemies than before.

As seen below in the Metal Gear Survive launch trailer, the action-adventure game's solo campaign and online co-op mode are shown off, with most of the focus centering on the hordes of zombie-like creatures known as "Wanderers," which are enemies to be defeated at all cost in order to save the human race. What's more is that giant extraterrestrial monsters are put on display, as well as what appears to be a mixture between a Metal Gear mech and a tyrannosaurus rex.

Although the latest game to come from Konami uses the Metal Gear branding, Survive is not meant to be considered as a part of the well-known franchise created by Hideo Kojima, with the original series' director stating that the games he made for the property was about “political fiction and espionage” and that zombies don’t fit into that vision. Nevertheless, the online experience for Survive appears to have been inspired by the mechanics found in MGS 5: The Phantom Pain's multiplayer component.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see whether or not Metal Gear fans and gamers at large will take to Survive by purchasing a copy of Konami's revised version of the original franchise. When the action-adventure game was initially revealed on YouTube, the video was flooded with dislikes, but after trying out the title's betas before launch, there could be many who have had a change of heart.

Metal Gear Survive is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
