Without a doubt, video game fans are on pins and needles in anticipation for the film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, but considering the fact that the movie’s still in pre-production, it’s likely that we won’t get any concrete news about the forthcoming motion picture for quite some time. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped the stealth-action franchise fan and artist BossLogic (AKA Kode) from envisioning who they believe would be perfect for the role of Snake, as their latest creation has put Captain America‘s Chris Evans in a fake movie poster depicting the character.

As seen in the two images below, BossLogic took the bearded version of Chris Evans as Captain America in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and decided that his facial hair added an extra bit of gruffness that could suit him well if he played Snake in the Metal Gear Solid film. In order to enhance the believability of Evans as Snake, though, the artist did a great job adding the character’s iconic headband and a lit cigarette for additional effect.

Considering the fact that the above representation of Chris Evans as Snake lacks the eye-patch present on the character in both Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, one could argue that he could make a fantastic version of the protagonist from either Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty or even Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Of course, other actors like Scott Eastwood, Josh Holloway, or even Michael Fassbender could easily take on the look of the character too, and do a competent job.

Of course, while Evans has the potential to do the role of either Naked Snake or Solid Snake justice, one has to wonder who would be a part of the ensemble cast if the movie is to take into account all of the various versions of the figure throughout the franchise’s history. With series creator Hideo Kojima having taken inspiration for the character from the original Snake Plissken, the protagonist of John Carpenter’s Escape from New York, Kurt Russell would be perfect for Big Boss, while Hugh Jackman could handle Solidus Snake, and someone like Nicolaj Coster-Waldau could be the blonde Liquid Snake.

Taking all of this into account, with the Metal Gear Solid movie still in the planning and development stages, the film’s director Jordan Vogt-Roberts is likely in the process of considering who will be cast as Snake. So, if BossLogic’s mock-up of Chris Evans as the character could translate well to the movie itself, then perhaps the actor will be in the running for the role.

The Metal Gear Solid movie is currently in pre-production.
