With Konami seeming to have shelved Metal Gear Solid for the time being, fans may feel they have been left high and dry without any new content since The Phantom Pain. However, it looks like an event being hosted by Celebrity Talent Booking may scratch the Metal Gear itch for any players that want to see more around the franchise, especially from a behind-the-scenes perspective.

Announced by Sniper Wolf voice actress Tasia Valenza on Twitter, this event seems to be bringing in some high-profile names from the franchise. Another prolific voice actor within the Metal Gear Solid series has also responded to the announcement.

The event is a Metal Gear Solid reunion panel that will be taking place on an unspecified date sometime in January. According to Valenza, this reunion will be bringing back the cast of the original game, including Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter, who responded to the announcement and told fans to "stay tuned," priming quite a bit of hype around the event. It isn't clear exactly how much of the original cast will be appearing, but fans have already been quick to start asking if some other personal favorites will be a part of the reunion panel.

It's unlikely this reunion is going to lead into discussions about future Metal Gear Solid titles, if there even are plans to continue the series. So, fans may want to temper their expectations of what this reunion panel really is, a chance to look back on and celebrate the beloved series, as opposed to looking too far forward. That being said, there are still plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about seeing the cast reunite for this panel and share in the celebration between those that were a part of making Metal Gear Solid and those who enjoyed it.

In the vein of looking forward to new content, this may be a chance for the original cast to impart some wisdom for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, or at least drop some hype they might be ready to stir up for it. While it's unclear if original cast members like Hayter or Valenza are working with the new cast of the movie, like Nolan North has with Tom Holland for the Uncharted movie, this could still be a chance to voice some opinions. Regardless, fans already appear excited to see this cast come back together, regardless of what might be coming next.
