According the the update, the latest projects currently being worked on by the duo is the live-action movie based on the classic video game series Mega Man. "Henry [Joost], Rel [Schulman], and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss maintain an active development slate. Features in the works include: an adaptation of Capcom’s MEGA MAN for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they wrote and are directing," reads the post. Neither Netflix or Capcom have provided an official statement, which fans should keep in mind. Until there's an official marketing campaign or promotional material for the upcoming Mega Man movie, fans shouldn't hold their breath in anticipation for anything serious just yet. Hopefully this little bit of information will not get this project cancelled, as often times there will be things going on behind the scenes that cause friction in movie development.

Since this Mega Man movie will supposedly be a live-action movie, it begs the question of how they will achieve this. Bringing the animated blue robot to the big screen is no small task. There's multiple routes they can go to achieve this, but there's also multiple routes that can also contribute to the failure of this movie. Since this is a video game movie, it has a lot riding against it. Everybody has seen what happens when creators design a character in a way that doesn't reflect the video game at all.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie was the victim of fan backlash due to the design of the titular character, which was revealed in the film's the first official trailer. The hedgehog had a more realistic look despite being a VFX creation and it didn't go over well with fans. Once they redesigned the character into an accurate CGI version of the video game design, then fans came to watch the movie in droves.

With Mega Man coming into the live-action format, it's hard to tell which route the filmmmakers will take. Mega Man may be an actor in a blue robot suit or it may take the Sonic route and have the character be a VFX creation in a world where everyone around him is real. Only time will tell.

Mega Man is reportedly in development for Netflix.
