There has been a serious lack of news on the Mega Man Legends 3 front, which may present itself as a worrisome situation considering that the game was said to still not have been green-lit by Capcom. Luckily, it seems the game is progressing quite well, so well in fact that Capcom will be celebrating the launch of the Nintendo 3DS's eShop by releasing Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version for the new service.

This new demo of sorts will give fans of the franchise a very early taste of a game that is still quite early in its development cycle. Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version features some classic characters the many fans will remember from the series, but also introduces a new character named Barrett. Barrett is the "reckless leader of a sky biker gang," and players will experience his unique way of traveling via a kick-ass sky bike that he can cruise around town on.

On top of this very exciting eShop launch news, Capcom also released some brand new screenshots and a trailer that shows off what 3DS owners and fans alike can expect from the prototype. The new trailer for Mega Man Legends 3 can be seen below.
