Open-world survival RPG Medieval Dynasty is seeing a new resurgence of players, but some unfortunately are not too happy about the game, especially with how it handles dialogue texts. After being available on PC for about a year, Medieval Dynasty was finally released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S last week. With the game also available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, more players are now ready to experience Medieval Dynasty's beautiful portrayal of the Middle Ages.

Medieval Dynasty tells the story of a young man who has fled from war and looks to forge his own peaceful destiny. The game starts pretty slow with the protagonist being all alone, and players have all the time they need to develop the character into becoming a great community leader, or even the founder of a prosperous dynasty. During that time, players would meet and socialize with many NPCs in Medieval Dynasty, and this is where it gets a little bit tricky.

Reddit user carlrt pointed out that they have been finding difficulty in reading the text when he's conversing with NPCs. "Loving Medieval Dynasty so far … Except for the fact that I have to proper[ly] squint to read what my character is saying! White text with a white background was a terrible choice!" The post is accompanied by a screenshot to further prove their point, showing the character talking to an NPC, with a reply option displaying a hard-to-read white text on top of a light gray background.

Another user with the handle Tha_Likely_Lad seemed to agree, adding that they also find the game's text hard to read because of its size. "Played a few hours and yes the text size is really bad. I tweeted the Devs about it. Hopefully they look to fix [it] for the console release." While the issue is probably already annoying enough for some PC players, it would seem to be even more problematic for console players who are playing Medieval Dynasty from the comfort of their couch and being positioned even further from the display.

Forming communities is one of the main selling points of Medieval Dynasty, and this means interacting with a lot of NPCs in order to learn about their personalities and help them fulfill their needs. Medieval Dynasty even has romance options, and this obviously wouldn't go too well for players who are always choosing the wrong reply each time they engage in a conversation because of the text being displayed in a bad way.

Fortunately, this kind of issue can be easily resolved with something like UI scaling options or even a text size slider. With the game's renewed popularity, hopefully the developer can be quick to work out this annoyance.

Medieval Dynasty is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
