Keanu Reeves is among the most popular actors in Hollywood, and his star status hasn't diminished in the last 20 years. Despite his roles in iconic series such as Matrix or John Wick, Reeves has yet to appear in one particular giant fictional universe: the MCU.
His fans, as well as those who love superheroes, have been clamoring for Reeves to be cast in the MCU. The actor himself wouldn't be opposed to it, and has said that it would be an honor to appear in such a film. However, those that long to see Keanu Reeves in the MCU will have to wait, since there hasn't been any confirmed casting news just yet. Despite that, it's fun for fans to imagine which Marvel character Keanu Reeves could play. The following are just a few roles that could fit the beloved star.
6 Morlun
Keanu Reeves comes across as a sympathetic person even when he's fighting others in his movies — for example, in John Wick, when he's avenging the death of his dog. With that in mind, seeing him portray an antagonist in the MCU could be an interesting choice, especially since the MCU villains don't have to be evil right from the start (such as Mysterio).
Speaking of Mysterio, Morlun is a Marvel villain who also has a close connection to Spider-Man. Morlun is a sort of a vampire, capable of draining the life energy of different versions of Spider-Man. Seeing as the MCU had already introduced the concept of the multiverse, Morlun would fit right in, and defeating him would present a true challenge for Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
Keanu Reeves has the experience and gravitas to pull off the role, not to mention that he looks a little bit like the comic-book Morlun. To top it all off, there's been a running joke on the internet for years that Keanu Reeves is actually a vampire, since he doesn't seem to age. Thus, playing a vampire in the MCU offers great way to make fun of the joke itself, or even use it to promote the role.
5 Black Bolt
Fans of Keanu Reeves will know that he can give an impressive performance even without speaking much. That would serve him well in playing Black Bolt, since the king of the Inhumans is a man of a few words. And when he does speak, the world shakes, sometimes even shatters around him.
That's what Black Bolt's power is, and Keanu Reeves could give him the seriousness and depth he possesses as well as portray the kindness with which he treats his family. After the failed show Inhumans ended after just one season, it's unclear whether the royal family will make it into the MCU anytime soon. If they do, though, Keanu Reeves as Black Bolt would be a good choice to lead them.
4 Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock is easily one of the most powerful Marvel characters. His existence in the MCU has been teased at in previous movies, most notably in the Guardians of the Galaxy, but Warlock has yet to appear in person.
It's true that Keanu Reeves doesn't have Warlock's characteristic golden hair, but he does have the talent necessary to pull off the part of the powerful hero. Bringing Keanu Reeves into the MCU as Adam Warlock would allow the films to explore even more of the space side of the MCU. It would also see Reeves interact with the likes of Star-Lord or Groot, which would no doubt be memorable.
3 Silver Surfer
One of the fan-favorites people would like to see Keanu Reeves play is the Silver Surfer. The character previously appeared in the 2007 Fantastic Four sequel, but the MCU could easily reboot the character and give him the care he deserves. Silver Surfer is the herald of Galactus, the type of space threat that the likes of the Eternals, Captain Marvel, or the Guardians of the Galaxy could deal with.
If portrayed right, Galactus could even be the next big baddie, like Thanos was. The Silver Surfer does help Galactus, but at the same time, it hurts him to see what Galactus does to the planets he devours. Portraying a tormented character is something Keanu Reeves excels at, so the Silver Surfer would be a good match for him. Alternatively, he could even play Galactus himself.
2 Wolverine
Of course, there can only be one Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, as Jackman made the part his own. But if the MCU decides to bring the character back alongside other X-Men, Keanu Reeves has both the acting chops and fighting skills to pull it off.
Seeing his tragic romance with Jean Grey could also be interesting, since the previous movies skirted around it to a certain degree. However, the question remains whether Reeves would be interested in taking on a part that would keep him in the MCU probably for years on end, as Wolverine is easily one of the most popular X-Men members.
1 Dracula
Another vampire — and an even more iconic one than Morlun — Keanu Reeves could portray Dracula himself in the MCU. Reeves already has an association with this classic vampire story, as previously player the young lawyer Jonathan Harker in the 1992 horror movie Bram Stoker's Dracula directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
A lot of time has passed since then, and Keanu Reeves would make a dangerous and impressive Dracula thanks to his proven experience and charisma. Seeing him fight it out with Blade in the upcoming MCU movie would be a dream come true for many fans.
