As one of the most popular Marvel superheroes, Daredevil might have never made it into the big leagues, but that doesn't change the fact he's a force to be reckoned with. Both brave and intelligent, Matt Murdock manages to combine his life as a blind lawyer and a superhero. While his personal life is less fortunate, Daredevil usually finds a way to beat the bad guy.

His appearance in the Netflix show, where he was portrayed by Charlie Cox, brought him even more fame. Fortunately for all Daredevil's fans, it's not the last time he appeared in the MCU. Viewers who enjoyed seeing him in the MCU should take a look at some of Daredevil's most intriguing comic book adventures. After all, he's just as cool in the source material as he is onscreen.

6 His Defeat Of Kingpin

The Kingpin in Daredevil

Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, is a villain to both Daredevil and Spider-Man — that's how dangerous he is. Daredevil fought him many times, but Kingpin usually came out victorious. So when Matt Murdock finally came up with a way to defeat Fisk, it was a story worth remembering.

It happened in the story "Last Rites," which took place in Daredevil issues #297 - #300. When Daredevil realized his previous approach wasn't working, he went with another option, and started cutting off Fisk's connections one by one. In the end, thanks to Nick Fury's help, Daredevil was able to connect Fisk to Hydra and eventually won the war.

5 How Daredevil Got In Serious Trouble

Karen Page in Daredevil

As audiences got to see in the recent Spider-Man movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's never good when hero's enemies learn their true identity. This also happened to Daredevil, and it was even worse for him. The person who betrayed him and sold his identity to Kingpin was, of all people, someone dear to him: none other than Karen Page.

In the story "Born Again," Kingpin decides to ruin Matt's life after learning the truth about his secret identity. What's more, he very nearly succeeds. "Born Again" is a chilling story, and it helps readers understand both Kingpin and Daredevil even better than they did before.

4 Daredevil Falls For Elektra

Elektra Natchios is both Daredevil's great love and great enemy, depending on the timeline. In the Netflix show, Elektra's story closely mirrors the comics. In Daredevil #168, the readers have the opportunity to learn how it all happened. Some things remain the same. When Matt meets Elektra again after a long time, it's revealed they used to be in love.

From there on, a complicated story develops as Daredevil and Elektra stand against each other. Elektra sometimes joins the side of good, but in this story, she works as an assassin, which causes a lot of trouble for Daredevil. It's fascinating to compare the comic book story with the one in the Netflix show, and focus on all the details in which the two versions are different or similar.

3 How He Lost The Woman He Loved

Elektra dies in Daredevil

The main reason that Daredevil's and Elektra's path separated is because she died. When she fights Bullseye in the comics, he proves to be too tough an opponent for her. Bullseye wounds Elektra and she manages to get to Matt's apartment before she dies in his arms.

Elektra also perishes in the Netflix show, but she later comes back to life, and, naturally, Matt is very surprised to see her once again. Once again, it'll be interesting for the fans to see how the show changes the circumstances of Elektra's death when compared to the Frank Miller comics.

2 When Daredevil Became Evil

Daredevil Shadowland

Heroes often distinguish themselves from villains by making the right choices, despite the negative consequences. However, any hero can break if pushed too far. That's what happened to Daredevil in the comic book Shadowland. When Daredevil took over the villainous organization The Hand, he also gained control over New York.

Unfortunately, the power proved too much for Matt and it corrupted him, changing him into a darker version of himself. Shadowland is a fascinating read for all Daredevil fans who want to know more about the hero's psyche and the line he walks between good and evil.

1 His Complicated Relationship With Maya Lopez

Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez in Hawkeye

The recent MCU Disney+ show Hawkeye recently finished its first season, and one of its main antagonists was Maya Lopez, aka Echo. In the series, Maya works for Kingpin until Hawkeye reveals to her that Kingpin is responsible for the death of her father. Echo's backstory is different in the comics, though. The person who tells Maya the truth isn't Hawkeye, but Daredevil, after Kingpin sends her to kill him.

Maya also builds a romantic relationship with Daredevil, and she eventually goes on to become a hero. Those who want to know more about how things happened between Maya and Matt should start by reading Daredevil (Vol. 2) #9 from 1999 and go on from there.
