For fans awaiting Max Payne 3, there should be a silver linning to the game's recent delay; the silver linning being that the time to pre-order the Special Edition has been extended!
Originally, the Special Edition for Max Payne 3 was only available for pre-order until January 15th, however the game's delay has also extended that timeframe - all the way until April 2nd, while supplies last, of course.
The Special Edition contains some cool stuff for Max Payne fans, including a statue of everyone's favorite painkiller popping protagonist, multiplayer unlocks, and the game's soundtrack.
As it stands right now, the game is shaping up to be a great addition to the franchise. Remedy - developer of the first two titles - has already praised the work Rockstar has done on the game, and Max Payne 3's unique approach to multiplayer is sure to be an interesting experience, as well as ensure that you end up using those multiplayer unlocks found in the aforementioned Special Edition.
As with every Special Edition for a game, there's always going to be someone who believes that it's a waste of money. While spending $100 on a game to get a statue of Max Payne may not seem worth it to some gamers, different people put value in different things, and for the hardcore Max Payne fans there's certainly plenty to relish over. Just make sure you pre-order as soon as possible, while most Special/Limited/Collector's Editions aren't as rare as publishers make them out to be - something tells me that Rockstar's decision to limit how long the Special Edition will be available for pre-order means they do intend to make a limited amount of copies.
