YouTube channel TeaserPlay has created yet another Unreal Engine 5 concept video, with this one all about Max Payne 2. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was originally released in 2003 with Remedy Entertainment serving as the developer and Rockstar Games publishing the title. Like its predecessor, Max Payne 2 enjoyed a mostly positive critical reception at the time of its release, and so it's not surprising that many fans want to see the game get a new lease on life on modern consoles.

Max Payne fans are in luck in that regard. The first two Max Payne games are getting remakes from Remedy and Rockstar, with plans to release them together on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. It's unclear exactly how far these Max Payne remakes will go, but it has been confirmed that the game will be built using Remedy's Northlight engine, which was used to make Control and is being utilized for the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2 as well.

While fans wait for more official information on the Max Payne remakes, they can check out TeaserPlay's concept video for Max Payne 2, though keep in mind that it was made using Unreal Engine 5 and not the Northlight Engine. The video shows protagonist Max Payne walking through dark city streets and shooting enemies, though it doesn't showcase the franchise's famous bullet time effects, unfortunately.

Those feeling nostalgic for Max Payne should note that it's technically possible to play the games on modern platforms. Besides playing the PC versions, all three games in the Max Payne trilogy are readily available to play on Xbox. The original Xbox versions of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne are all there, as is the Rockstar Games-developed Max Payne 3, thanks to the Xbox backward compatibility program.

Watching TeaserPlay's concept video and replaying the original games can help tide fans over while they wait for more concrete information on the Max Payne remakes. Remedy is developing a number of games right now, though, so it's unclear exactly when the Max Payne remakes will see the light of day, but hopefully fans get to see the games in action sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, fans of Remedy Entertainment's work have a lot to look forward to in the years ahead. Besides the Max Payne remakes, Remedy is also working on a Control sequel, Alan Wake 2, and two games that are presumably new IP but haven't been revealed yet.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is available for PC, PS2, and Xbox.
