It’s confirmed, the official trailer for The Matrix: Resurrections is finally arriving. A short clip was shared on social media channels by Warner Bros., which revealed that the trailer would be released on Thursday, September 9. While the news got fans excited, it wasn’t all that was on offer. Fans can now get their first look at the film.

To ramp up the promotions for The Matrix: Resurrections, Warner Bros. has put together multiple teasers for the highly-anticipated project that can be viewed by fans on thechoiceisyours.whatisthematrix.com. However, they will have to put in a little work for it, which includes selecting a pill. Anyone who has watched the previous Matrix films will be aware of the choice between the red and blue pill, and all fans have to do is choose one.

The landing page on the website forces one to choose a pill, which then leads to a teaser with randomly generated footage from The Matrix: Resurrections. Depending on the pill chosen and the time an individual visits the website, the footage in the teaser changes. As it turns out, there are more than 180,000 variations of the teaser, which should keep fans busy until the official trailer comes out.

The website, whatisthematrix.com, was first launched back in 1999 when the first film in the Matrix franchise was released. For years, it had provided content on The Matrix Trilogy to fans of the franchise and has now been updated to include the fourth installment. While the teasers are quite short and quick scenes flicker across the screen that would easily be missed if one blinks, they provide never before seen footage from the film, which reintroduces fans to Neo.

The upcoming film will see Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss return to reprise their roles of Neo and Trinity, respectively, from the Matrix franchise. Newcomers joining the franchise in The Matrix: Resurrections include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, and Jonathan Groff, among others. The trailer, which will be released in just two days, was previously screened at CinemaCon 2021.

The Matrix: Resurrections will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
