The Mass Effect series, while always beloved, has seen an increase in popularity lately with the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is a compilation of the first three games in the sci-fi RPG series, and it includes various visual enhancements and quality of life upgrades. Mass Effect’s return to the limelight has reinvigorated the franchise’s many fans, with many making and sharing content again.

Mass Effect has always had a very active community that is passionate for the series many rich and well-written characters, and they commonly create art pieces to share their love for the series. A Reddit user who goes by the name joeydeath538 has posted Nancy Choquette’s unique take on Mass Effect art to the website. Nancy is a 2d/3d animator, designer, and student who creates various fan and concept art on her Blogspot. Rather than just create some more standard Mass Effect fan art, Nancy has instead produced a couple of works that cross over with the team-based shooter Team Fortress 2. Combining the celebrated Mass Effect characters Garrus and Mordin with the Sniper and Medic classes from Team Fortress 2, Nancy has managed to design some incredible pieces that manage to capture the feel of both IPs.

The Reddit post has received very positively, too; “Mass Fortress 2” has earned over three hundred upvotes as of writing. Mass Effect Reddit community members are now imagining which characters they would pick from the series to fill other roles in Team Fortress 2. Fans seem to believe that Wrex would make an excellent Heavy and Tali could fit in perfectly as the Engineer.

It is always intriguing to see different artists’ adaptations of characters in their own style and Mass Effect’s expansive universe, lovable characters, and deep lore contribute to a wonderful game property to create art for. While the follow-up to the third game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was not nearly as well-received as the initial trilogy, the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition has reminded nostalgic gamers just how incredible the series is.

Of course, fans would love to have their hands on Mass Effect 4, which is now in development. Developer Bioware is also currently working on fantasy RPG Dragon Age 4 as well, so it may still be a long time before fans get a proper release date for the next Mass Effect title. While the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition and art pieces like Nancy’s “Mass Fortress 2” may make that wait a little bit easier, fans are still eagerly awaiting more news on the much anticipated Mass Effect 4.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
