Gamers would not be particularly remiss if they said that the combat in Mass Effect is imperfect. But while third-person shooter combat is consistently average throughout each of the Mass Effect games, they are instead celebrated for the depth in which characters are developed in relation to the player. As such, Mass Effect's colorful cast of squadmates is arguably what has made each game entertaining and memorable for fans of the sci-fi RPG epic.

Mass Effect's third installment opens hotly with the beginning of the Reaper invasion that was teased since the original game. BioWare's signature fingerprint is distinguishable through its concentration on pacing of the game's action, which debuts on-rails environment traversal alongside a waist-high cover system that fans had become accustomed to from the franchise. However, those who have experienced Mass Effect 3's Citadel DLC know that the game presents some of the franchise's most tender and somber moments. One fan has shared a creative illustration of one Citadel scene in particular.

Reddit user odangowitch has shared a bubbly and energetic interpretation of Garrus Vakarian and Shepard dancing together, which is inspired by the notable sequence from their date in the DLC. Players receive an email sent from Garrus at their private terminal, with the subject line simply requesting "Drinks?" Players are then able to meet him at the Silver Coast Casino. This moment, like other character interactions and romances in the DLC, offers players a calming respite amidst the inevitable Reaper invasion.

Fans admire odangowitch's illustration, which they say looks like it is from a Pixar film. Funny enough, odangowitch states that they were inspired by the "Tangled TV series" for their artwork. Contrasting lighting reflects from the suspended light fixtures along the balcony as the two characters dance joyously. The cartoonish art-style plays well into this scene's childlike, carefree atmosphere, and highlights one the most intimate sequences that players share with Garrus in Mass Effect 3.

Reiben123 responds receptively to odangowitch's art, and shares that they appreciate "how cute, stupid, and innocent the whole squad can be." Mass Effect characters are thoroughly rich with regards to development and characteristics, making each of them an engaging and worthwhile individual to converse with. Garrus' Citadel DLC date, among other character interactions, is what makes the conclusion of Mass Effect 3 so heartbreaking for many fans.

Nonetheless, odangowitch's unique Mass Effect artwork does a terrific job of celebrating this special moment in Shepard and Garrus' relationship. With over 3,000 upvotes so far, it is safe to say that the Mass Effect community appreciates odangowitch's hard work.
