Mass Effect is one of the biggest and most notable sci-fi franchises in the history of gaming, with a passionate fanbase. One Mass Effect fan went the extra mile by tattooing a portrait of the legendary Mordin Solus on their shoulder. SPOILERS for the original Mass Effect trilogy after this point.

The Salarian scientist is one of the most beloved characters in the history of the Mass Effect series. His eccentric personality and robotic delivery could've easily made him one of the more annoying characters in the series, but it's a testament to the sharp character writing and endearing personality of Mordin Solus that he's become a standout character in a trilogy full to the brim with excellent characters. The fact that people are willing to get incredibly detailed tattoos of Mordin is a testament to his iconic stature.

This fan tattoo, shared by user IvyCommander on Reddit, is a work of art, featuring a completely solid background with Mordin's illuminated face serving as the major point of focus. The blue and red hue on Mordin's face adds a layer of depth to this illustration, making it a touching tribute to one of Mass Effect's most popular characters.

Mass Effect 3 featured a major plot point when Shepard had to devise a cure for the genophage in order to get the Krogans on his side. Given Mordin's close work with the genophage, he was one of the people who helped distribute this cure all over the galaxy at the cost of his own life. It was one of the most selfless and heartbreaking moments in the trilogy that further cemented Mordin's character as an unsung hero who genuinely wanted to make up for the inhumane nature of his actions in the past.

Fans of Mordin who wanted his character to be represented to a greater degree in Mass Effect 3 certainly enjoyed the same with the Citadel DLC. It allowed players to access a holotape with a lengthy set of dialogue where Mordin speaks about everything from serious issues to nonsensical yet entertaining rhymes. It was a nice and heartfelt way to let players look back once again on the time they spent with this beloved character. With this fan's tattoo, Mordin's legacy is forever etched into their own body as a reminder of this stellar character and his admirable sacrifice.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
