Earlier this year, Electronic Arts released Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, an updated collection of all three of the original trilogy's Mass Effect games. A new audience was introduced to Mass Effect for the very first time, while older Mass Effect fans were able to revisit the trilogy for a single extended experience. It seems that EA is hoping to bring Mass Effect: Legendary Edition to even more players, however, as additional evidence hinting that the trilogy could be heading to Xbox Game Pass has been discovered.

A now-fixed listing for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition discovered on the Microsoft Store has garnered some attention online. The listing appears to be, for all intents and purposes, a typical Mass Effect: Legendary listing for the PC platform - except for one detail. The title of the listing also featured the codename "Rosebud." Rosebud is a codename historically used to refer to Xbox Game Pass games offered on the platform via Microsoft's partnership with Electronic Arts.

What that means is that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition could be coming to Xbox Game Pass via the EA Play service. EA will make Mass Effect: Legendary Edition available through EA Play, which will then become available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to play as they like. That's what the "Rosebud" listing for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition appears to be referencing.

This isn't the first time that "Rosebud" listings in the Microsoft store have leaked, hinting at future EA Play games to be added to the service. In fact, a very early EA Play leak tied to EA games coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC revolved around 75 game listings on the Microsoft Store each having the "Rosebud" codenamed in their titles.

This isn't the first evidence that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is being brought to Xbox Game Pass, either. In November, the current official listing for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition in the Xbox storefront had a "GAME PASS" logo emblazoned on it. The image was quickly changed and no official statement was issued about the leak.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition would be a solid addition to Xbox Game Pass' library of games, as well it's no Cyberpunk 2077, nor is it Halo Infinite, Mass Effect remains a very popular franchise. Plus, it's likely that BioWare will begin talking about Mass Effect's future more in 2022, so having Mass Effect: Legendary Edition available via the Xbox Game Pass service would be very handy and lucrative. Perhaps Xbox fans will hear more about Mass Effect: Legendary Edition coming to Xbox Game Pass in December, though for now they should keep expectations low.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
