Despite being a collection of remasters, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is one of the most exciting video game projects currently known about. While little news of the project has surfaced since its reveal a few months back, rumors indicate that players may finally be seeing Mass Effect Legendary Edition in action soon.

While players are gearing up to relive their favorite Mass Effect romances, battles, and storylines, Bioware has also hinted at some major improvements to the trilogy that go beyond just visual upgrades. While this could be anything from improved combat mechanics to smoother controls for the original Mass Effect’s divisive Mako vehicle, players have been left to wonder what exactly will be changing when the updated games arrive. Fortunately, they may not be wondering much longer.

Twitter user @RinoTheBouncer recently posted a collection of Mass Effect-related comments from ResetEra insider @Shinobi602, and they could not be any more exciting. Proven right on several occasions and building a reputation as a trustworthy source, Shinobi602 shares that extra work has gone into the remaster of the first Mass Effect game specifically. Further, the insider reiterates the idea that certain gameplay systems in the series will be improved upon, and while this is exciting, the most intriguing aspect of this news is the tease that a trailer is incoming.

Per Shinobi602, players will only need to wait “one more weekend” for the trailer — meaning that its release is just around the corner. Supposedly dropping between February 8 and February 14, the trailer’s arrival may be imminent, and the news will no doubt be exciting to fans. As for what will be shown in the trailer, no rumors have come about, meaning that it could be anything from a compilation of the most unforgettable Mass Effect choices to snippets of gameplay from one or all of the games.

With Mass Effect Legendary Edition’s recent release date leaks seeming believable, as March 12 fits into the previously announced window of Spring, it makes sense that a trailer would arrive sooner rather than later. After all, with the game possibly just over a month away, EA and Bioware will need to start promoting the remasters sooner rather than later. While it is possible that the game may not be advertised until right before release, the fact that it was revealed and hyped up so early suggests otherwise.

Regardless, while these rumors of a trailer do come from a proven insider like Shinobi602, they should still be taken with a grain of salt unless something is said officially. With a chance of a trailer next week, though, fans of the Mass Effect series have a good reason to be hyped.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with targeted PS5 and Series X enhancements.
