In the world of PlayStation trophies, nothing is more valuable than the platinum trophy. These ultimate rewards require players to get every single trophy that a game has to offer, an endeavor that can take a lot of time and skill depending on the game. By the very nature of this definition, most games only have one platinum trophy, as there would be nothing else to do after players have already completed everything, but as it happens that won't be the case for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. In this upcoming game, players will be able to earn not one, not two, but three different platinum trophies.

Players that are familiar with the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition likely can already piece out why this is the case. This title differs from most other games in that it is actually a collection of the Mass Effect trilogy all bundled up into one. Players can earn a different platinum trophy for each of the three games contained within.

While trophy hunters may be jumping at the chance to earn three platinum trophies from a single purchase, it should be said that this will be anything but easy. In order to get the platinum trophy for any of the three Mass Effect games included within, players will need to effectively 100% the game. Longtime players of the Mass Effect games will know that this is a taxing endeavor. There are a lot of things to do in all three games, so trying to do them all in one sitting would be practically impossible.

For players wanting to go the extra mile, there are also a set of trophies that are obtained based on the player's accomplishments across all three games. It's unclear whether or not these are required for the individual platinum trophies or not, but they include some really difficult requirements. Perhaps the hardest of these trophies is Insanity III, requiring players to complete all three games in the trilogy on Insanity difficulty without changing the difficulty setting in game at all. These modes are notoriously difficult, so this trophy will require a ton of skill to get.

For those players wanting to simply get as many platinum trophies as they can in as short a time as possible, the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is definitely not for them. On the other hand, it does offer a great platinum trophy to cost ratio. Aside from all that, it will truly serve as an indication of which Mass Effect fans were crazy enough to go all the way in the remastered version of the game.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition releases on May 14th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
