The Asari Diplomacy assignment is a side mission in Mass Effect. Players seeking to 100% the game will need to initiate this mission and speak with Nassana Dantius. To trigger the quest, gamers will need to meet Nassana at the Citadel. She believes her missing sister Dahlia is alive in another cluster.

Shepard will be tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of Nassana's sister, who is supposedly being held captive by privateers. Not only is her sister missing, but Nassana was tricked into transferring a ransom payment to the "privateers".

Macedonian Mercenaries

Nassana tracked the ransom payments to a planet called Macedon in the Artemis-Tau cluster. There is a small mercenary base there, and she believes that is where Dahlia is being held captive. Shepard will need to fast travel there to track down the mercenaries and investigate. Macedon is a high pressure planet, so Shepard must stay in the Mako for the majority of the journey.

While on Macedon, there is a uranium deposit on the southwest corner of the map. Gamers will want to collect the resource while they are there. The first clue Shepard will need to uncover is in the Asari Capsule marked on the map. After picking it up, walk just up the hill to find a weapons crate that contains the powerful Crossfire IX and Titan X. Next, players will want to drive the Mako toward the exclamation point on the map, which denotes the mercenary base.

Infiltrating The Base

The best way to get into the base is to take down as many guards as possible from range. Players should approach the base from the south and park far enough away to avoid detection. Then, use the sniper to kill as many of the patrolling mercs as possible. Some of the mercenaries will be in the large sniper towers on the outskirts of the base. There are a total of four snipers. Each will take two shots to knock down, and one final shot to finish them off. Six more pirates will be scattered around the base. By using the sniper, there will be fewer enemies to deal with at close range.

  • 4 Snipers: Two shots to knock them off and one to kill
  • 6 Pirates: Three on the north side and three on the south side

Finding Dahlia

Shepard will have plenty of pirates to fight inside of the base. In the first room there is a fuel generator directly in the back of the room that will explode when shot. As is the case in most of the challenging Mass Effect quests, kiting the enemies toward Shepard is a good way to catch them out in the open and utilize abilities. Gamers should step forward to lure in a couple of enemies, and drop back to pull them away from the others. It may be a long and tedious fight, but it is a necessary strategy on higher difficulty. There are a total of eight enemies, including a pirate with biotics.

The Asari Slayer

In the back of the room, a new enemy called the Asari Slayer will appear. The slayer is none other than Dahlia, who apparently isn't being held prisoner by the pirates. Once Dahlia's shields are down, she will not stand much of a chance against Shepard with his newly acquired Crossfire IX. Once she is dead, gamers will want to loot the medkit and upgrade kit on the right side of the room. There is more loot through the door at the back left of the first room.

Up the stairs, there is yet another room with a ton of high level gear and currency. At the desk in the room upstairs, there is evidence that Dahlia was actually the leader of the mercenary group. Nassana will not be very happy to hear that her sister is both dead and a criminal. Before returning to the ship, people should take a look at the map and loot the other marked POIs. The only thing left to do is fast travel back to the Citadel and speak with Nassana to complete the quest.
