Mass Effect fans are always coming up with ways to show appreciation for the game’s characters. While artwork is one of the most common ways that players show their love for the game, a Mass Effect fan named SeeHangArt has done something special with the game’s alien companions.

This is hardly the first time that fan art has altered the look of a Mass Effect character, however. In the past, the aggressive biotic Jack was given a look that would help her fit into the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. More recently, some long-haired Jack fan art appeared, showing the character with locks reminiscent of Miranda’s. However, SeeHangArt’s piece aims to do more than give some alien crew members extra hair, as the artist fully transforms the chosen companions into humans. Posted to Reddit by ApothiconDesire, the post is worthy of some attention.

First up is Garrus Vakarian, a fan favorite companion and romance option in Mass Effect. While the Turian loses his mandibles, skin, and other facial features, his eye and armor set show that the classic outfit has been left intact. His human version also gets some scarring on their skin, showing consistency between the two forms. Next up is Thane, who looks more like an action movie hero than a reptile-like alien. Donning red hair and a green jacket, it would be tough to recognize the character without ApothiconDesire pointing him out in the comments.

Next up is a great piece that sees Mass Effect’s Wrex humanized. Boasting even more scarring than Garrus, the Krogan looks as if he has been through several fights during his lifetime. Short black hair and thick eyebrows come together with some bulky white armor to complete Wrex’s design. Mordin may be the most believable of the bunch, as his look is what many would think of when imagining how he would appear as a human. Alongside some blonde hair and glasses, Mordin is seen doing his usual pose while wearing his original outfit.

Next up is Mass Effect’s Grunt, the younger of the original trilogy’s Krogan companions. Sporting some more hair and less scars than Wrex, he is another character that would be hard to recognize without the neckpiece and armor set. Finally, there is Legion, the most interesting of the bunch. Turning a robot human is a tough task, but SeeHangArt does so by giving him a cybernetic eye that matches the Geth variant. A thick tube can be seen behind his neck as well, giving the armor a more machine-like quality.

While Mass Effect fans already love these characters in their human forms, this is a neat concept that the artist has clearly mastered. With plenty of human characters like Miranda and Commander Shepard, perhaps someone will transform them into aliens one day.
