An online listing from Microsoft potentially leaks the release dates for BioWare's Mass Effect: Andromeda and Ubisoft's South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
Without a doubt, both Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole are two of the most anticipated video games of 2017 by fans around the globe. Of course, neither title has had its release date officially confirmed by developers just yet, but if a recent listing from Microsoft is to be believed, then both BioWare's science fiction game and Ubisoft's RPG could launch on March 31 and March 30, respectively.
These specific release dates were originally seen on the official Xbox Live Rewards website, which slated both of the games for March launches. However, it's important to note that the times could actually be placeholders in lieu of the official release dates for Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
The news of Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole potentially having their launches set for March should be taken with a major grain of salt, as a lot of the other dates listed on the Xbox Live Rewards page are showing games' availability as being inaccurate from the actual release date. For instance, For Honor has been listed with a February 13 launch, despite Ubisoft having set the official release date as February 14.
Furthermore, the Xbox Live Rewards page also has Injustice 2 listed on the same page as Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole as having release date in March. This showing prompted Ed Boon, the creative director of the fighting game's developer, NetherRealm Studios, to respond to such speculation by jumping onto his Twitter account to compose the tweet: "FYI: Injustice 2 is not coming out March 28." This further points to the likelihood of Andromeda and South Park's release dates listed on the Xbox Live Rewards website as being incorrect.
As of now, neither BioWare or Ubisoft have officially confirmed release dates for Mass Effect: Andromeda or South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The most recent time frame given by developers for Andromeda's scheduled launch is sometime in early 2017. The Fractured But Whole, on the other hand, was originally going to be released in 2016, but received a delay until the first quarter of 2017.
While it remains to be seen as to when exactly Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole will actually become available, the developers for both games certainly have planned for there to be even closer looks at the titles prior to their launch. As it happens, BioWare has promised Andromeda fans that there will be more gameplay footage coming during CES 2017 tomorrow, while The Fractured But Whole surely has plenty more surprises in store for the near future.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is currently scheduled to launch sometime in early 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while South Park: The Fractured But Whole is set for release in the first quarter of 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
