Following the recent release of Mass Effect: Andromeda's "Golden Worlds" trailer, the Reddit user known as "red_badge_of_derp" had ears keen enough to catch a clue found within the video at the 2:10 mark, wherein there is a reference made to Habitat Five being a solid choice for the mission's Quarian colonists. The extent of the Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer's mentioning of Quarians is rather short, as it states, "For our Turian and Quarian colonists, Habitat Five appears to be a perfect home for dextro-protein life."

While this is sure to be intriguing news for Mass Effect: Andromeda fans, it's important to note that little to nothing more has come from the brief nod toward Quarians in the "Golden Worlds" trailer. As a matter of fact, BioWare has yet to even confirm or deny their existence in the forthcoming title, as this is the first overt hint of the alien race making their way into Andromeda yet.

For those unaware, the Quarian people were a very important race in the original Mass Effect trilogy, for not only did they create the Geth, but also they were represented as a majorly popular love interest for the trilogy's protagonist Commander Shepard. For instance, the Quarian character Tali has been a fan favorite for quite some time.

As far as their backstory and identity is concerned, Quarians were considered to be a stateless species on the fringes of galactic society. Despite this, the Quarians can reclaim their homeland in Mass Effect 3, but since Andromeda starts before the events of the third entry in the series, the race are still stuck to the Migrant Fleet when the mission officially begins.

Of course, since Quarians have yet to be officially confirmed for Mass Effect: Andromeda, it's possible that the "Golden Worlds" trailer mentioned the species just as a fun little nod to fans of the franchise. Should that be the case, it would support previous claims from BioWare that not every alien race from prior entries in the series will wind up in Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch on March 21, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
