As one would expect in this day and age in gaming, Mass Effect: Andromeda's development team at BioWare is currently putting together a day one patch for the forthcoming science fiction shooter in order to ensure the title avoids hitting any snags with bugs or glitches at launch. However, according to the studio's lead designer Ian Frazier, the first update for the game will not make any improvements to the game's awkward facial animations despite the rampant criticism of the problem being discussed among fans online.

As seen below in the Twitter exchange between a fan and BioWare's lead designer, when asked if the studio intends on addressing the issue of characters having bizarre reactions and odd-looking facial animations during scenes with dialogue, Frazier declares that further improvements in that area won't be acknowledged in the day one patch. However, it's quite possible that subsequent updates could fix these problems in Mass Effect: Andromeda later on down the line, as the studio is still in talks about what will be in later updates.

For those unaware, ever since Mass Effect: Andromeda became available to play through EA and Origin Access with a 10 hour trial, many fans have been disappointed to discover that the game's facial animations have been less than pristine, with some saying the problem is so noticeable that it takes them out of the experience entirely. Of course, as is par for the course on the Internet, fans have been expressing criticism in the form of memes, which managed to elicit a response from Andromeda producer Michael Gamble to say that he and his team have appreciated the feedback so far.

While Frazier didn't declare exactly when Mass Effect: Andromeda facial animations will be addressed, he has revealed that the team at BioWare is working to include more skin tones for the game's character creation mode that should come in an update after the day one patch. He also assuaged fans' concerns about the sound issues persisting in Andromeda's multiplayer mode, as the problem is currently "under investigation."

Taking all of this into consideration, it seems as if BioWare is doing all it can to make sure that Mass Effect: Andromeda launches as smoothly as possible on its first official day of availability. However, there will certainly be many fans wondering why these and other matters weren't rectified before allowing the public to play the title, especially since EA previously said it would delay the game until it was completely ready.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch on March 21, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
