With the Mass Effect series being a hit primarily for its cast of characters, it makes sense that fans would pay tribute to them in several ways. One Mass Effect player has gone above and beyond, however, printing off and painting their own Tali statue.

Tali’Zorah is one of Mass Effect’s most popular companions, something that has been made very clear in recent months. Alongside Tali pillowcases that sell out as soon as they become available, fans have made numerous pieces of fan art based on the expert engineer. LEGO busts of Tali have been made, cosplay has been worn, and tattoos have been shown off that are based on Shepard’s masked ally. Now, one Mass Effect fan has brought the character to the real world via a stunning figure.

The 3D printed tribute to Tali was posted by Reddit user VBBN-Official. With it being 1/4 scale, they were able to add plenty of detail, and the paint job is worthy of praise. Alongside a black base, Tali’s protective suit is perfectly colored, with the different shades of purple, black, and gold matching what is seen in-game. All the different textures are easily noticeable, whether it be the intricate scarf or the glass visor on Tali’s helmet. A neat touch sees Tali using an omni-tool, with VBBN-Official able to remove this piece at will.

While the statue would have been cool enough on its own, the second image shows that the Redditor went above and beyond when making the model. Not only is Tali holding a pistol in the second photo, but her helmet has been removed. Tali’s face has been the topic of much discussion over the years, with fans sharing Tali face concepts and debating over the stock photo used in the original Mass Effect 3. However, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition finally gave fans a proper look at a maskless Tali, and that design has been carried over to this Redditor’s custom-made statue.

The Mass Effect fan even managed to capture the Quarian’s glowing eyes, and as detailed in the comments, this was no small feat. To make this detail possible, the model-maker needed to attach a battery box inside the base. They then needed to wire the light up into Tali’s eyes, hiding all the cords inside the figure. The button to turn on the eyes is apparently hidden on Tali’s leg, making this custom figure just as good as an official product would be.

With VBBN-Official planning to make an even better version of this statue out of resin, fans of the series will want to keep an eye on their future posts. While Tali is unlikely to appear in Mass Effect 4, fans will surely continue to show their appreciation for the character for years to come.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
