Despite the recently released Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC, BioWare is apparently not resting on their laurels and is already gearing up for the next DLC launch.

The Extended Cut was released primarily to help players find some closure to the arguably ambiguous ending. While there were plenty of arguments for a new ending and even plenty against it, the updated endings did help clear up some lingering questions about the fate of Shepard's crew, though BioWare did say that not everyone would be pleased and satisfied with the new endings - which was evident as not every lingering question is answered.

However, BioWare is not stopping with yesterday's release. Mass Effect 3 Producer Mike Gamble sent out two tweets yesterday, teasing that the future installments of Mass Effect 3 DLC were not far away:

"Would now be a good time to talk about how we're doing more DLC in the future? :P"

"That was a trick question. We'll save the future DLC for future chats. Don't worry though...there's much more."

That apparently was motivation enough for some determined Mass Effect 3 fans, as shortly thereafter, a post made on BioWare's forums gave a link to Pastebin, where someone had posted a part of the code extracted from the Extended Cut. The code reveals new dialogue that was presumably recorded alongside the Extended Cut, and presumably focus on a traitorous Reaper named Leviathan.

According to the source code, Commander Shepard is sent to rescue Ann Brynson, a scientist who is located at a mining colony which has been under Leviathan's indoctrination for 10 years. Leviathan is referred to as a defector, a traitor who "killed" another Reaper. After the mission concludes, Leviathan presumably joins Shepard as a war asset. The code also indicates that Brynson can live or die based on Shepard's choices.

This is not the first time a Reaper named Leviathan has been mentioned in the Mass Effect universe. Scanning a planet in Mass Effect 1 revealed "The Leviathan of Dis", the corpse of a presumed-dead living space ship. In the Bring Down the Sky DLC for Mass Effect 1, if the character Balak is kept alive (and the proper save imported all the way through the series), he will offer hints in Mass Effect 3 that Leviathan was a dormant Reaper that the Batarians accidentally reactivated.
