Mass Effect's original trilogy presents unique science-fiction with choices and mechanics that branch through three installments. Mass Effect games contain hundreds of hours of content as a packaged narrative, with events in the first game affecting something that may or may not occur in the third. Mass Effect 3 was released in 2012, but fans have continued to find interesting details about it nine years later.

However, it is uncertain whether new details have been found in the original game itself, or through BioWare's Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Mass Effect's remastered collection has provided fans with another opportunity to experience the franchise's original trilogy. Dedicated fans may discover parts of Mass Effect games that they may have not previously experienced, such as a number of fans have done with the opening of Mass Effect 3.

Fans, such as AkuvalCellar and Ikcatcher, have since been sharing their newfound discoveries about a lesser known detail in Mass Effect 3. It has recently been re-discovered that players are able to access an upgrade screen for Admiral Anderson in Mass Effect 3. Players only have access to Anderson's abilities as a squadmate for the duration of Mass Effect 3's opening tutorial on Earth, when Shepard and Anderson flee from the Reaper invasion. But the upgrades listed are as intricate as any character's upgrades are in the game, demonstrating BioWare's attention to immersion in Mass Effect 3.

Because Anderson is not a regular squadmate, he could have simply been an NPC who runs alongside players in Mass Effect 3's opening mission on Earth. The sequence is short enough that players may not think to even check if Anderson is able to level up. Anderson has also not been a potential squadmate in previous Mass Effect games. Instead, Anderson is given a comprehensive skill tree, similar to any other squadmate character that players can allocate points toward.

Anderson's abilities include Concussive Shot, Frag Grenade, Fortification, and Incendiary Ammo. Anderson is also given a passive class power titled Alliance Admiral, which boosts weapon damage, health, and shields. Of course, players may choose to have the game auto-select which skills to level up for Anderson. Nonetheless, the choice is there for players to decide whether they would rather choose skills themselves.

The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is therefore a great chance for fans to experience Mass Effect in a packaged set. Fans returning to the franchise are experiencing content they may have missed on their first playthroughs, with brief access to Admiral Anderson's skill tree being the latest fan discovery.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
