Mass Effect 2's Stolen Memory DLC adds a new squad member to the game known as Kasumi Goto. She is a master thief that specializes in assassination, tech, and enemy suppression, and many players will undoubtedly be happy to have her on their teams. After spending some time with Kasumi, some fans may even become interested in pursuing a romance with her in Mass Effect 2, and this guide addresses if that is indeed possible.

To get right to it, there is simply no way to romance Kasumi Goto in this critically-acclaimed action RPG from BioWare. In fact, the options for interacting with Kasumi are generally quite limited, as they are with Zaeed Massani, another of Mass Effect 2's DLC squad members. While this information may prove to be quite disappointing to some fans, it does make sense that it is not possible to form an intimate relationship with this enigmatic thief.

Indeed, it seems quite clear that Kasumi has not moved on from her former-partner Keiji Okuda. Additionally, it appears that any forward-looking romantic interest that she might have is primarily focused on Jacob Taylor, as she inquires whether he likes "Japanese girls with a penchant for kleptomania." It is thus not extremely surprising that Kasumi is not open to advances from Mass Effect 2's Commander Shepard, though her aloofness may still frustrate players that were hoping to connect.

Fortunately, there are quite a number of romance options in Mass Effect 2 that fans can put their attention on. More specifically, players with a male Shepard can pursue Miranda Lawson, Tali'Zorah vas Neema, and Jack, while those with a female Shepard can woo Jacob Taylor, Garrus Vakarian, and Thane Krios. Additionally, fans can romance Kelly Chambers, Samara, and Morinth regardless of their protagonist's gender, and while these options may not quite make up for Kasumi's unavailability, there is no shortage of opportunities for love at the very least.

To note, Kasumi does appear in Mass Effect 3, which means that fans will get to spend some additional time with her as they play through the trilogy. That said, it is not possible to romance Kasumi in this third games, and players will still need to find a partner somewhere else. This is not very difficult to do, though, as romance in Mass Effect 3 is expanded and features a total of 15 possible love interest for players to connect with if they wish to.
