While Commander Shepard’s quest to bring together the ultimate Normandy crew and bring the fight to the reapers came to a close with Mass Effect 2, there were still several DLC episodes released for the game that kept the storyline going. Perhaps in an effort to give gamers a little sci-fi action to occupy their summer, Microsoft has slashed the prices on all three of those pieces of DLC.

For those who haven’t been keeping track of the Mass Effect 2 DLC releases that is Lair of the Shadow Broker, The Arrival, and Kasumi — Lost Memory all at half their regular price. Each adds about three hours of content to Mass Effect 2 along with a chance to reconnect with some characters that weren’t featured prominently in the main campaign.

Though the majority of the DLC episodes for Mass Effect 2 won’t help gamers better understand the events of the upcoming Mass Effect 3, they are worthwhile additions to the ME2 storyline. Of particular interest to those gamers looking for some through line between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 is The Arrival, a DLC episode that chronicles the oncoming onslaught of the reapers — the same “arrival” depicted in Mass Effect 3’s early trailers.

Never the less, all of DLC episodes are available for 50% off their regular price — a sweet deal no matter how you look at it. For those who haven’t been keeping track of the price points for all the Mass Effect 2 DLC here are the new prices:

Lair of the Shadow Broker – 280 MS Points

The Arrival – 400 MS Points

Kasumi – Lost Memory – 280 MS Points

Although Mass Effect 2 DLC is certainly a highlight of this sale, there is plenty of other quality content being offered at discounted rates — including the ability to change your gamertag. For a complete list of all the great Xbox Live deals head on over to Major Nelson’s blog.
