Since the release of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2020, fans have been trying to decide which entry in Marvel's Spider-Man is better. There is no question that each game features some better elements than the other, but it is hard to choose which game is superior.

The character of Miles Morales was first created in 2011 by Brian Michael Bendis, whereas Peter Parker was invented in 1962 by Stan Lee. Fans of Marvel have had more time to fall in love with the character of Peter than they have had with Miles, but perhaps the video game series has helped Miles to catch up.

10 Marvel's Spider-Man - Iconic Villains

The opening of Marvel's Spider-Man tasks Peter with putting a stop to Wilson Fisk's reign of terror. To do this, Peter must infiltrate Fisk Tower and locate the elusive crime lord hiding within, but the battle that awaits him can be deceptively challenging.

Defeating Kingpin will grant the player some time to relax, but this moment is fleeting as six other super villains are waiting to reveal themselves. Mister Negative leads this iconic group of scoundrels, but his reason for doing so remains unknown for most of the game's story.

9 Miles Morales - Compelling Villains

Marvel's Spider-Man Prowler In City

Though Miles Morales features fewer villains than Marvel's Spider-Man, the way they are woven into the story is far more impactful than the antagonists of the previous game. The Tinkerer, the game's main antagonist, is quickly revealed to be Phin Mason, Miles's childhood friend.

The story follows Miles as he attempts to sway her from her dark path, a noble pursuit that unfortunately causes more harm than good. He also learns that his uncle, Aaron Davis, is the prowler, a petty criminal who found himself working for some truly dangerous people. The bond Miles shares with these villains makes the overall story far more compelling.

8 Marvel's Spider-Man - Multiple Playable Characters

There are several instances while progressing through Marvel's Spider-Man that the player will take control of a different character. Most of these scenarios will task the player with embracing a more stealthy approach, permitting a much-needed break from the story's already lightning-quick pacing.

Playing as Mary Jane and Miles allows the player to see exactly how difficult it is to fight crime without being bitten by a radioactive spider. These missions will often feel slow, but that's usually the point. The player is meant to feel vulnerable while playing as these characters to further accentuate the power Spider-Man wields.

7 Miles Morales - Unique Powers

Marvel's Spider-Man tried to present Peter as a somewhat invincible force, but Miles's display of power in Miles Morales revealed that Peter is no longer the strongest Spider-Man. Miles learns how to harness Bio-electricity shortly into the game's opening, a discovery that gives him an entirely new combat approach.

Though he is still in the process of learning how to control this otherworldly ability, it is arguably the most powerful Spider-Man power seen to date. Its integration into the main story also allows the ability's usage to feel more natural.

6 Marvel's Spider-Man's - The Heist DLC

Once the main story of Marvel's Spider-Man is completed, the player will be able to experience Peter's second adventure where he must put an end to Hammerhead's new scheme. Hammerhead has taken advantage of Kingpin's absence and rallied together a small army to assist him in his takeover of New York.

To stop him, Spider-Man teams up with Black Cat and Silver Sable, two unlikely teammates who, surprisingly, want the same thing. The Heist DLC adds an extra nine hours of gameplay to Peter's already exceptionally long story. Fans of Spider-Man who wish to spend as much time as possible swinging through New York will likely love the extra story included in the DLC.

5 Miles Morales - An Adorable Companion

The Cat's Pajamas costume will become available for Miles to wear after the main story and the 'Looters!!!' side mission has been completed. Returning to Teo's store after completing these objectives will result in both obtaining the new suit alongside a new companion.

Spider-Cat is essentially just a cosmetic addition to Miles' costume, but once he joins Miles' side, it will be difficult for the player to let him go. Spider-Cat will even help Miles out in combat situations by lunging his claws into his enemies.

4 Marvel's Spider-Man - A Longer Story

One of Miles Morales's major shortcomings was that it could be completed much faster than its predecessor. The further the player advanced into the story of Marvel's Spider-Man, the more scenarios were introduced, while Miles' story felt more like a race to the finish line.

Peter's story is chock-full of engaging twists and turns and, though Miles Morales operates under a similar formula, his journey feels much less extensive. Those wishing to fill Spider-Man's shoes for as long as they can, may prefer the experience offered by Marvel's Spider-Man over Miles Morales.

3 Miles Morales - A More Emotional Story

Though Miles Morales is significantly shorter than Marvel's Spider-Man, it offers the most emotional story in the series so far. Miles meets his childhood friend, Phin, after years of being apart and quickly uncovers that the loss of her brother has led her down a dark path.

Phin has joined a terrorist group known as the Underground in the hope of avenging her brother's death. Miles sympathizes with Phin over her grief, but he is compelled to foil her plans for revenge by any means necessary to ensure Harlem's safety.

2 Marvel's Spider-Man - Better Costumes

Each new rendition of Marvel's Spider-Man has incorporated multiple cosmetic upgrades to further enhance the player's overall experience. Fans of Spider-Man's cinematic adaptations can don the identity of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland depending on how they're feeling, while comic book fans can pick between a vast array of suits seen only in the comics.

The variety of different suits featured throughout each upgrade allows the player to sport their favorite Spider-Man attire while exploring New York. Though Miles Morales incorporated some truly incredible suits, the costumes present in Marvel's Spider-Man stand out much more.

1 Miles Morales - Better Tricks

Miles Morales falls in Marvel's Spider-Man

The player can perform multiple different tricks and flips during their adventure across New York, but some are more memorable than others. Most of these feats will see the web-slinger performing a series of somersaults while soaring through the sky, while others will allow the hero's personality to shine through a bit more.

Miles's approach to swinging through the city is much more relaxed than Peter's. Though he can perform several similar feats, he can also opt for a less eccentric means of traversal. The most iconic move is seen after leaping from a tall skyscraper where Miles places both arms behind his head, crosses his legs, and mimics lying down.

Marvel's Spider-Man is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
