Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has fans excited for several reasons, with the appearance of the Symbiote easily ranking near the top of the list. While Venom is obviously one great way to use the parasite, another is the Symbiote suit - and one Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fan has a great idea for how to make it work.

While it is unclear if the Symbiote suit will feature in the sequel, and if it will be something more than just another suit if it does, fans clearly have high expectations for the design. There was no black suit in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man despite the costume being one of the hero’s most recognizable looks, but with the Symbiote being a key part of the sequel’s story, it would be shocking not to see the suit in-game. However, if it does come, it will have to fit with Peter’s moveset.

Based on the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer, Peter’s moveset will feature the Iron Spider legs in a prominent role. Likely done to give him some special attacks that are on par with Miles’ Venom powers, the legs could be an exciting feature that are seen regardless of what suit is worn. While this is purely speculation, it makes little sense for Insomniac to put so much focus on a random Suit Power in the game’s debut trailer. As such, they likely play a big role. If this is the case, though, Redditor TrueBobSag believes some special attention should be given to the legs on the Symbiote suit.

Given that the costume is essentially comprised of a gooey alien surrounding Peter’s body, it would be a bit off-putting to see a pair of metal legs extend from his back. The two textures would not mesh well, nor would their colors. As such, TrueBobSag would like to see the Iron Spider legs replaced with tendrils when the Symbiote is worn. Using a picture of Peter from Ultimate Spider-Man as an example, the tendrils are seen extending from his back much like the Iron Spider legs do.

Overall, the design is much more aesthetically pleasing, and it would be a great way to make the highly anticipated costume stand out from the others. Given all the Symbiote suit fan art, many are clearly hoping to see the suit done right. Even if the tendrils function the exact same as the Iron Spider legs, it would be great to see Insomniac going the extra mile when designing a suit that fans have been waiting years for. Still, only time will tell if something like this happens.

Unsurprisingly, other Marvel’s Spider-Man fans support this idea, with the post bringing in over 700 upvotes and a few dozen supportive comments. With so much hype for the Symbiote suit, hopefully Insomniac’s take on it does not disappoint.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
