Just last month, Sony's PlayStation Showcase unveiled a bunch of new titles during its 40-minute stream. Fans had hopes as to what would appear such as God of War Ragnorak as well as some sort of confirmation for a sequel to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man. Fans got both, and alongside confirmation for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Venom was also confirmed to make an appearance in the sequel.

Marvels' Spider-Man was received very well by both critics and fans. During its 15-20 hour campaign, players were introduced to a variety of villains in the Spider-verse such as Mister Negative, Kingpin, Doctor Octopus, and many more. What Marvel's Spider-Man also did so well was teasing the appearance of villains for Spider-Man 2, such as Venom.

During the many boss fights in Marvel's Spider-Man, Peter has to rely heavily on his Spider-Sense, which gives him a heads up when something is about to strike him. One fan shares an interesting idea for a potential boss fight against Venom in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the idea that Venom will not trigger Spider-Sense when attacking. This would mean, players would have to adapt to cues that Venom could give off instead of simply reacting to the Spider-Sense indication whenever Peter is in danger potentially making for a challenging fight.

Of course, the idea that Venom could act without triggering Peter's Spider-sense is traditionally reliant on Peter having previously bonded with the symbiote which then acquires knowledge on Peter's ability. As of right now, it's not known if that is the case. Of course, the developers could also just ignore that history and simply have Venom not triggering Spider-Sense as some sort of base ability.

The only snippet of Venom that was shown in Marvel's Spider-Man was during a cutscene where the symbiote seems to be bonding with Harry Osborn. Harry is Peter's best friend so the idea of Harry not triggering Spider-Sense works in the way that it plays into a key characteristic of Venom, but also showing that Peter has a blind spot for his friend. In fact, having Venom jump and attack Peter at night without any warning from his Spider-Sense could even be frightening.

In the end, that all depends on the history and gameplay mechanics Insomniac wants to place in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. It's not known whether or not this Peter has encountered the symbiote previously or not so there are many different ways this could play out. It's more than likely there will be some sort of story reveal or flashback seeing as Peter has already been swinging through the city for 8 years when players first met him in 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man.
