Marvel’s Spider-Man features plenty of original suits and costumes from the comics, though there are a few outfits that have not yet made it into the series. Arguably the most iconic costume to not show up in Marvel’s Spider-Man is the Superior suit, and one fan has shown what it could look like.

While Superior Spider-Man was originally controversial, the story arc has become a lot more popular in recent years. Now a cult classic, the comics focused on Doctor Octopus taking control of Peter Parker’s body. With the original wall-crawler seemingly dead, Octavius implants his mind into Peter’s and attempts to be a better person and crime fighter than the original hero. While Peter does eventually regain his body, Doctor Octopus has an interesting run as an anti-hero — and he brings a few new costumes along with him.

The second Superior Spider-Man suit is undoubtedly the most iconic look, as it features a massive black spider on the chest. Black eyes are also seen, while some red, Iron Spider-like legs are attached to Otto’s back. While the design is neat and deserves to be represented, Reddit user The-pathetic-bat seems to be particularly fond of of the very first Superior Spider-Man costume. As such, they have made an edit of an in-game suit to make it look like the comic book design, and the result is incredible.

Overall, the costume is similar to Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Upgrade Suit. Entirely red and black, there is not a single bit of blue to be seen. While it is different from Peter’s usual color scheme, that change makes sense since it’s technically a new Spider-Man. The red on the costume is as pronounced as the black, with dark versions of both helping the costume to stand out. One unique thing about the costume is the symbol, with the outer legs almost wrapping together to make for a unique appearance. Some pouches that can hold gadgets also feature in this look.

As pointed out by The-pathetic-bat in the comics, Insomniac may have chosen not to add the costume because it will feature prominently in a future storyline. After all, the first game did not feature Miles Morales suits since he was getting his own spinoff. Likewise, no Symbiote-focused costumes appeared, which makes sense given the fact that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will double down on the Symbiote. With this logic in mind, the Superior Spider-Man costume could be saved for a Doctor Octopus return. With the villain’s disease slowly killing him, it would make sense for him to try to takeover Peter’s body.

With Insomniac paying homage to recent comics via the inclusion of Mister Negative and the setup for Wraith, adapting Superior Spider-Man is possible. Regardless of when and how it is added, though, this fan’s impressive edit proves that it would look terrific in-game.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
