Marvel’s Spider-Man has been out for a while now, with fans doing everything there is to do in the game time and time again. As such, some Marvel’s Spider-Man fans have turned to mods to keep themselves entertained, swapping around character models to create some silly scenarios.

While the mods that have been created for Marvel’s Spider-Man are limited, as the game is only available on PS4 and PS5, those that have been shared online have quickly taken off. Recently, players found a way to take control of Kingpin in Marvel’s Spider-Man, swinging through the city as the massive crime boss. While this is absolutely a funny sight, as Wilson Fisk looks unnatural swinging on webs, seeing him beat down foes is not too out of character since he is a supervillain. Aunt May, on the other hand, is a different story.

Few characters are as kind-hearted as Aunt May, so it is hard to imagine her doing any crimefighting. Likewise, she is far too old to be swinging through New York, with the character instead helping her community through her job at FEAST. However, this did not stop Reddit user beef_rap from sharing a video of an Aunt May mod in action. While the concept of turning Aunt May into Spider-Man is already pretty unnatural, the clip truly becomes cursed when seeing how strange her movement is.

Though fans have requested a Peter Parker skin in the past, this clip is proof that an Aunt May skin would not be a good idea. The clip from beef_rap begins with the cutscene where Spidey shows off his new Advanced Suit, and it sees Aunt May stuck in a strange perch animation the entire time. Seeing her bounce on a vehicle, float above the ground, and flip around in the sky is ridiculous, with the footage being both creepy and funny. However, gameplay of the Aunt May character swap is even sillier.

Clearly, the game has no idea how to react to the Marvel’s Spider-Man character models being swapped, as Aunt May is seen running in the air between her swings. Seeing her run backward and toward the ground is goofy, but based on the 3,300 upvotes the post has received thus far, many gamers are on board with this kind of absurdity. Some Redditors joked that this is why the game has not released on PC like other PlayStation Studios games, while others nicknamed this version of Aunt May “The Amazing Spider-Ma’am.”

Players should not expect to see Aunt May swinging through the streets of New York City when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases, but the 2023 title is still shaping up to be interesting. For those more concerned with having a laugh than theorizing about Venom, though, this clip is as good as it gets.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
