Marvel Comics is rich with history, for both characters and locations. Insomniac Games paid great attention to detail in the comics for their game, and Marvel’s Spider-Man presents a great number of easter eggs for the most die-hard comic fans to notice and appreciate. Marvel is a company no stranger to easter eggs. Their films are ripe with them, and now their games are too.

There’s a ton of easter eggs to look out for, with a great number of Marvel’s Spider-Man easter eggs shining a light on iconic Marvel characters. Some are more obvious to the casual comic fan, but some are rather obscure, and a fun discovery for the PlayStation and PC exclusive game.

9 Alias Investigations

New York City is sprawling with life, and many locations harbor iconic Marvel Comics characters. One such character is referenced with the building Alias Investigations. The building can be found in Hell’s Kitchen and is a direct reference to Jessica Jones, a private investigator with superhuman abilities. Alias Investigations is Jessica Jones’ business name, in which she investigates people and their affairs.

Jessica Jones is one of the many Marvel characters in New York City. Her building is a confirmation that she exists in Marvel’s Spider-Man game universe. The character has also seen recent popularity with Marvel and Netflix’s series, Jessica Jones. She has a few friendly encounters with Spider-Man in the comics.

8 Man-Wolf In Space

As the son of J. Jonah Jameson, John Jameson is an astronaut currently residing at a space station during the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man. John likes to listen to his father’s podcast from space, but luckily for Spider-Man, does not share his father’s slanderous views on the menacing web-head. John Jameson can be found in the pause menu’s social media tab under the alias “JJinSpace.”

In the comics, Jameson has encountered a few fights with Spider-Man, during his time as Man-Wolf. This occurred after Jameson was sent to the Moon, and found a red gemstone that he wore as a pendant. Every full moon, Jameson would become a wolf-like creature with no control over his actions.

7 Rand Corporation

Located in Manhattan, players will be able to find the Rand Corporation building. This is the location of a company owned by Danny Rand, a well-known superhero in the Marvel universe. Danny Rand is the Iron Fist. With his secret identity hidden, Danny Rand spends his time as a higher-up at Rand Corporation but focuses mainly on the responsibility that comes with being Iron Fist.

Iron Fist is a character who had his own Marvel and Netflix show, Iron Fist, and the character in the comics has a good friendship with Spider-Man. The two have interacted many times, and perhaps the character will be seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

6 Wakanda Embassy

New York City seems to be the home of plenty of embassies. One is a fictional country located in Africa. The Kingdom of Wakanda is a small, yet powerful nation in Northeast Africa. For centuries, it has existed in isolation, and with exposure to the world, is considered the most technologically advanced nation on the planet, as well as the richest for its metal source.

Players can find the Wakanda Embassy in Midtown. It exists as part of the diplomatic mission of Wakanda. When Black Panther visits America, he often resides in the embassy. As many know, Black Panther is an iconic Marvel hero and is set to have a film about his legacy in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman.

5 The Inhuman’s Dog, Lockjaw

In the financial district of Manhattan, players will find a stand-in for the real-life Charging Bull sculpture. In Marvel’s Spider-Man, the iconic statue is replaced by Lockjaw, the dog to Blackbolt and the Inhumans. This giant dog is huge and has antennae growing from his head.

As a loyal pet to the Royal Family of Inhumans, Lockjaw is used to help transport the Inhumans across time and space. Lockjaw has notable moments in Marvel Comics, but his bond with the Inhuman and Illuminati member Blackbolt is more prominent.

4 Eddie Brock

Venom has been shown in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailer, with many expecting to see Harry Osborn as the symbiote host. However, in the comics, Venom has a favorite host, and his love for Eddie Brock is felt by the Symbiote like no other. Eddie Brock makes a small appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man in the form of a leaving card.

When Peter Parker left the Daily Bugle, he received a farewell and good luck card from his team members at the Bugle. One such person to sign his card was Eddie Brock, who signed “Great working with you!” It seems Brock and Parker are on good terms.

3 Sanctum Sanctorum

As one of the most iconic locations in Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Sanctum Sanctorum can be found in Greenwich. The location is unique to the other buildings, and the strange spiral-like window glows orange at night.

Sanctum Sanctorum is the headquarters of the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. It houses assortments of mystical and magical arts, from creatures to artifacts and more. There’s a great deal of mystery within such a building.

2 Nelson & Murdock Attorneys At Law

There are many easter eggs involving Matt Murdock, but one of the more commonplace ones is both the business card and the building “Nelson & Murdock Attorneys at Law.” This is the business of the lawyers Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock, law partners. Matt Murdock’s secret identity is that of the street-level superhero, Daredevil, a blind crime fighter.

Daredevil is a beloved hero, who has ties with both The Kingpin and Spider-Man himself. Daredevil even featured in theatres with a cameo appearance for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and is set to feature in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, as well as his own Disney Plus series, Daredevil: Born Again.

1 Bombastic Bag-Man

Marvel’s Spider-Man features many easter eggs to previous games, films, and shows with the plethora of costumes that the player can wear. Yet, one of the more obscure outfits is that of the Bombastic Bag-Man, a disguise that Peter Parker used when he did not have his Spider-Man outfit but needed to save the day.

The Bombastic Bag-Man outfit is iconic for lacking shoes and wearing a paper bag with eyeholes as a mask. The costume had to be worn once Peter Parker separated from the alien Symbiote in the Baxter Building, the home of the iconic Fantastic Four.
