Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are still playing the game years after release, and while most of the secrets have surely been found, new bugs can still be discovered. One such bug makes it look like Doctor Strange is invading a Marvel’s Spider-Man player’s gameplay session, something that is sure to get a laugh out of fans.

Marvel’s Spider-Man players will surely be familiar with the game’s Doctor Strange easter egg, as the Sanctum Sanctorum can be found inside the open world. However, while swinging by the residence of the Sorcerer Supreme is a lot of fun, players never actually meet the wizard in the game’s narrative. Still, if Doctor Strange had shown up at some point during Peter’s battle with the Sinister Six, one player has shown off how the cameo could have looked.

A clip from Reddit user RiepingCaio has managed to bring in over 3,000 upvotes on the official subreddit for the Marvel’s Spider-Man series. The player can be seen fighting a few bad guys, but after they uppercut one into the air and start swinging an item at their foes, the glitch occurs. One of the thugs gets stuck on the nearby streetlight, with the criminal seen waving their arms and legs as if they were falling. While this would be interesting enough on its own, it is the orange portal behind the enemy that is the real shocker.

With the portal featuring the same exact orange color that is used by Doctor Strange in the MCU, the fan cleverly titled the post “I think I unlocked Doctor Strange.” The portal opens and closes repeatedly, resembling the moment in the first Doctor Strange movie where the hero is still learning how to use his Sling Ring. When the portal is active, fans of the films will likely think back to Avengers: Endgame and the arrival of the unsnapped heroes during the final battle with Thanos.

The visual glitch seems to go on forever, with RiepingCaio managing to knock out the other enemies and complete the random crime as their foe continuously floats in the air. While some players do want to see a Zombie Hunter Spider-Man skin in the sequel, which would see the wall-crawler donning Strange’s Cloak of Levitation, it would surely be a lot of fun if a proper cameo were to happen. For now, all fans have is this collision glitch, with depressedostrichstan joking that the clip shows Insomniac’s version of Spider-Man being pulled into Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With the big screen team-up between Doctor Strange and Spider-Man right around the corner, this bug comes at a perfect time. Given all the excitement for the film, it would not be surprising if players try to intentionally get enemies stuck so that they can recreate the bug for some Spider-Man: No Way Home-inspired photos.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
