Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fans likely have a long wait ahead of them before more info on the game is released, as it is not scheduled to drop until sometime in 2023. However, many are killing the time by making posts about the suits they want to see in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

There have been countless suit requests for the next Marvel’s Spider-Man game, ranging from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie suit to the Miles Morales’ Captain America outfit. Zombie Hunter Spider-Man from What If…? has been requested, as have the new suits from Spider-Man: No Way Home. Arachknight, the crossover suit that combines Moon Knight with the wall-crawler, has also been a popular suggestion. However, the costumes tied to Otto Octavius’ version of Spider-Man are undoubtedly some of the most heavily demanded costumes.

While the Superior Spider-Man outfit is more well-known, and has been mentioned often because of this, it is not the only neat suit worn by Otto. Redditor JB1199 wants to see Superior Octopus brought to the game, a costume that was a perfect blend of the villain’s classic look and his appearance as Spidey. With the suit being so different from the usual Spider-Man costumes, it is easy to see why the post has received over 800 upvotes that show support for the suggestion.

After Doctor Octopus is forced out of Peter’s body and the reign of Superior Spider-Man comes to an end, he finds himself a new body to copy himself onto. After doing this, he returns to one of his old hideouts to find it overrun by Hydra. After a brief fight, he accepts an offer to join the group, as they promise to help him take down Spidey once and for all. With funding and technology from Hydra, Otto Octavius makes new versions of his remote-controlled arms as well as a recolored version of his Superior Spider-Man attire.

There is a lot to appreciate about the costume, with the metal arms obviously being eye-catching. The glowing green “spider” instantly evokes thoughts of Hydra, sticking with the theme, while the green eyes are a nice change from the usual white lenses. The white and black mix makes for a neat color scheme, ensuring that the suit is a far cry from what the true Spider-Man would wear. Redditor JB1199 also makes the great point that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s focus on the Iron Spider legs could help make a suit like this fully functional, letting players wield Doc Ock’s arms.

As of now, it remains to be seen which alternate suits developer Insomniac Games will include in the sequel. Clearly, there are a lot of possibilities, though it seems like Superior Octopus is one that would fit perfectly with Peter’s new moveset.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
