While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is not releasing until next year, gamers have wasted no time suggesting potential features for the game. Suit requests are perhaps the most common posts online, with fans wanting to see many outfits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - and one community-suggested mechanic could make all of these suits possible.

The feature in question was actually inspired by Spider-Man: Far From Home. During the film’s final act, Peter Parker has an emotional talk with Happy about Tony Stark’s legacy and being his own hero. Motivated, he goes on to create his own suit, designing the black and red costume that he wears for his final fight against Mysterio and during some key scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actual design process of this suit is what interested Reddit user Idarkstar3000, as Peter mixes and matches various parts in a way that would translate well to a game.

According to this Redditor, one of the features that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 should include is an option for players to make their own suits. While this mechanic would require a lot of work on Insomniac’s end, it could be hugely beneficial for fans. After all, entire communities have been formed that are based on in-game fashion for titles like Destiny 2 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If players could make their own suits, a similar community could be spawned for the Marvel’s Spider-Man series.

Both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales feature memorable suits that range from the various Spider Armors to the iconic Bodega Cat, and giving players the option to combine pieces of these costumes could be an excellent foundation for a costume creator. Throwing the Bodega Cat backpack on the MCU’s homemade suit could lead to a neat combo, while tossing the Scarlet Spider jacket onto various suits would guarantee some flashy looks. Certain costumes could look a whole lot different with another pair of eyes or altered spider symbols, too.

Alongside 1,400 upvotes showing support for this suggestion, Reddit user TheLoyalTR8R pointed out that collectibles in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be far more enjoyable if suit pieces were unlocked alongside them. For instance, instead of getting one suit after gathering every backpack, each backpack could provide “different textures and patterns” for custom outfits. This Redditor also believes that when each suit is unlocked, its components should be available inside a lab or suit creation menu.

With Peter making his own suit before the Doc Ock boss battle at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man, putting that power in the hands of players seems like a logical next step for the sequel to take. While it remains to be seen if Insomniac Games will make such a feature a reality, the responses to this post make it clear that fans want to see suit creation going forward.
