A key plot detail for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has seemingly been leaked via the description of an upcoming Marvel Legends action figure. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released on PS5 in Fall 2023, so naturally, fans are excited about any new information and tidbits that they may come across.

The first game was a massive hit, receiving praise from the gaming community for its gameplay and narrative. It has earned multiple accolades from various award-giving bodies. The success also helped usher in a spin-off/sequel, Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As that entry came out in late 2020, gamers have since been longing for another follow-up to the game. Fortunately, when the Spider-Man 2 trailer was released, many fans rejoiced and speculations on the next outing were a hot topic.

Now, an important plot point for the game may have leaked thanks to the description of an upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Legends action figure. According to an image shared by Reddit user Exra_, the game will see the original Web-Slinger, Peter Parker, guide Miles Morales in adjusting to the Spider-Man role as he learns to use and harness his powers.

This story feels highly similar to the plot of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, wherein Peter B. Parker ended up training Miles Morales. That movie had a fun dynamic involving the two Spider-Men that, ideally, could translate better in the upcoming video game. However, Insomniac Games should showcase both Spider-Men equally because Peter and Miles both have their own fan following. Also, both characters have a few skills that are exclusive to their play style. In fact, one possibility would be to allow the player to swap between both heroes to allow different approaches to the game.

While this description may seem like a tidbit of information that is probably already expected by the player base, it's great to find out that both characters will still play an important role in the franchise moving forward. Perhaps, the rumored multiplayer aspect of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 could play a big part in helping push the story of Peter's role as a guide and guardian to Miles, if not a partner. Ideally, the two Spider-Men could go on in-game missions together to create an extra layer of gameplay that hasn't been touched in the first iteration or the standalone spin-off. For now, everyone can assume and speculate on more concrete in-game details, but at least the confirmation that the two characters will have a close relationship within the game proper is a welcome thought.
