Nico Minoru's challenge in Marvel's Midnight Suns is significantly more taxing than the ones given to her squadmates. Because her attacks are "random," victory can feel like more a matter of chance than one of tactics. Thankfully, there is one way that wins every time.

These challenges aren't like most battles in the game. There are modifiers to the cards played, redraws, and moves. The cards received are preset and defined. There is usually only one way to beat this challenge in Marvel's Midnight Suns and this is the way to do it for Nico Minoru in Black Shadows.

Beating Black Shadows

Redraw the Blood Magic card.
Use the Double Up card (attack).
Use the Double Up card (heroic).
Redraw the Empower card.
Use the Blood Magic card.
Use a Witchstorm card on opponent 1.
Use the Witchstorm card on opponent 4.
Use a Witchfire card.
Use the Witchfire card.

The first thing players need to do is get Nico's deck set for success and get her buffed up before making any attacks. First, redraw the Blood Magic card. It has lifesteal on it which is irrelevant to this challenge.

Use both Double Up cards. The order is irrelevant, one will double the number of attack cards and the other will double the number of heroic cards.

Redraw the Empower card. It would reduce the cost of heroic cards, but the card received gives another 2 Heroism for a total of 6, which is enough to cast all the cards in the player's hand.

Play Blood Magic. This particular one buffs damage output with the Strengthened status.

Now it's time to deal damage with the only four remaining cards. Use Witchstorm on opponent 1 and both opponents 1 and 2 will take damage.

Then use Witchstorm on opponent 4 and it will hit opponents 3 and 4 a few times.

Finally, cast both Witchfire cards and it will take care of the last of the opponents.

This will add the Crack the Sky card to the player's hand. Use it to crack the newly respawned crystal.

Beating this challenge will give players the legendary Crack the Sky to use on a regular basis. Edit the deck to add the card and get some practice with it.
