Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is finally here, and it contains a whole lot of story. Even when players have completed the Eidos Montreal-developed title, they won't have experienced all the game has on offer.

This is because it's just as much a choice-based experience as it is a third-person shooter. Players will have multiple opportunities to change the way the story unfolds, and can see how their decisions play out differently by reloading a chapter or starting a new game. This might account a little for all the storage space Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy takes up on PC.

After completing the short prologue, there are 16 chapters in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Here are the names of all 16 chapters in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy:

  • Prologue
  • Chapter 1: A Risky Gamble
  • Chapter 2: Busted
  • Chapter 3: The Cost of Freedom
  • Chapter 4: The Monster Queen
  • Chapter 5: Due or Die
  • Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place
  • Chapter 7: Canine Confusion
  • Chapter 8: The Matriarch
  • Chapter 9: Desperate Times
  • Chapter 10: Test of Faith
  • Chapter 11: Mind Over Matter
  • Chapter 12: Knowhere To Run
  • Chapter 13: Against All Odds
  • Chapter 14: Into The Fire
  • Chapter 15: Broken Promises
  • Chapter 16: Magus

Replaying any chapter from the main menu will preset past decisions to those players made in their currently selected save file. This means they can go back and see the immediate changes affected by the choice system in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, but will have to restart the game and play the chapters in order again to see the long-term effects of altered scenes.

New Game Plus becomes available after completing the game once, so players can restart the story while still retaining their characters' unlocked Perks and Abilities. This is a great way to experience an altered version of the plot while searching for collectibles. Like the many comic-inspired outfits in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

It's also fun to go back and experience combat with powerful abilities at the team's disposal. Although Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy didn't need great combat if it nailed the story, it's definitely nice to see both aspects getting a boost with the inclusion of a New Game Plus mode.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
