Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is packed with collectibles and references to the extended Marvel universe. One of the best examples of this are the costumes players can collect for each member of the team.
Fans of the 2014 James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy movie will be happy to know that the whole team can change into outfits that honor the designs found in the film. Groot's is actually the first one players will come across from the set, and it can be equipped straight after finding it.
Where to Find Groot Movie Costume in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
The Groot movie costume can be found very early on during Chapter 1. At a certain point, Rocket and Star-Lord will be forced to split up with Groot in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. From here, players should follow Rocket to the next objective. On the way, make sure to shoot as many Parasite Nests as possible to win the bet with Rocket and unlock the "Eat it, Rodent" Trophy/Achievement.
After Rocket has crawled through the vent and opened the door for Star-Lord, go through and follow Rocket to the top. Keep following until the room goes dark and a cutscene activates showing the pair interacting with a Marvel Infinity Stone.
Take an immediate right after the Infinity Stone cutscene as soon as players have control of Star-Lord in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy again. Crawl through the hole and then turn left to find the pink box that contains the Groot 2014 Movie costume.
If replaying this chapter from the chapter select screen, players need to finish it in order to add the costume to their collection across all playthroughs. If not, when they load up an alternative save, the Groot Movie costume in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy won't be available to wear. This is true for any outfit or collectible found while repeating a single chapter.
It's not the most radically different outfit for Groot in the action-adventure title, but once all of the movie costumes have been found for the rest of the team, he will fit right in with the MCU-styled team. The biggest change to Groot's look in the game comes with the "Five Horsemen Of The Apocalypse" costume. This is also a set that can be found for every character.
To change into one of the many movie and comic-inspired outfits in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, all players need to do is bring up the character menu, change to the required character, and then press the "Change Outfit" button.
