Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy combines a decision-based narrative with third-person shooting, but also contains a lot of collectibles and Easter Eggs to discover. Finding a Guardian Collectible will unlock a conversation with a team member that delves into a particular moment in their past.
Locating all of these personal items for one team member in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will also unlock the "Managerial Skills" Trophy/Achievement, and finding half of all Guardian Collectibles will earn players “Thoughtful Captain.”
There are 3 collectibles to locate for every team member. Keep in mind that if replaying chapters in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, players must finish each one again in order to add the items to their collection across all playthroughs. This ensures they count toward the 2 Trophies/Achievements.
Where to Find All Groot Guardian Collectibles in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
1. Broken Translation Device - Chapter 2
The first Groot Guardian Collectible in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy can be found in Nikki's hideout. Go to the center of the room and check behind the boxes in front of an assortment of monitor screens. The Broken Translation Device is on the floor in between the boxes and computer screens.
2. Cold Case File - Chapter 5
While exploring the Nova ship, players will eventually come across a control room with workstations and a line-up in the center. After entering, turn left and go to the wall by the workstation on the right, near the stairs to the exit. Groot's Cold Case File Guardians collectible is on the floor by the wall.
Players can interact with the console in the middle of this room while they are here if they would like to know who the Nova prisoner was in the room before, and study some background information on various Marvel comic characters.
3. Deeproot Plant - Chapter 13
After unlocking the fire setting for Star-Lord's Elemental Gun, players will soon come across a large area with a lot of poisonous plants they must destroy to follow the path forward. After hopping over the tree at the start of this location, turn immediately right.
Shoot the poisonous plant at the end of this path, and then look right. The Deeproot Plant Groot Collectible is on top of a rocky surface jutting out from the side of the cliff. Pick it up to complete Groot's collectibles, and unlock another conversation with him back on the Milano.
As well as helping to unlock Trophies/Achievements, finding all of one character's personal collectibles will also change the ending of Marvel's Guardians of Galaxy by adding to the epilogue for that team member.
