During Chapter 6 of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the team visits Knowhere to talk to Cosmo. The Guardians split up before this, and players have a chance to explore and spend some Units on a variety of things. Peter comes across a shop owner who tries to sell him something to disable the Nova tracker, but what are the consequences of buying the disabler?

Should You Buy The Disabler in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy?

It is not recommended to buy the disabler on a first playthrough of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy on Knowhere during Chapter 6. It won't disable the Nova lock installed during Chapter 2, but does unlock a small conversation with Rocket back on the Milano. Just interact with him the next time they are both on the ship together to trigger the dialogue prompt.

However, Trophy/Achievement hunters and those who want every collectible in the game will want to purchase the 1500 Nova lock disabler in at least one playthrough. It is a Galactic Compendium item, so it will show up in Peter's inventory once purchased. Players must collect 65% of all collectibles in each category of the Quillopedia to unlock "Lore Hoarder", and the disabler is an easy item to obtain.

If players are interested in getting a Platinum or full Gamerscore as quickly as possible, they can buy the disabler on an early playthrough as long as they have enough Units to pay the fine in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This will unlock the "Galactic Frugality" Trophy/Achievement.

Depending on whether players chose to hide the llama or the tech in Chapter 2 of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the fine is between 7000 and 9000 Units. This means players still have the potential to pay the fine and spend Units on a few things on Knowhere.

Other easily locatable Galactic Compendium items in Chapter 6 include a Collector's Emporium ticket, a lottery ticket, and a doll that also counts as one of Gamora's Guardian Collectibles in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

This is found in the gift shop of the Collector's Emporium for 2000 Units. A ticket is not needed to buy it, but players can get one for free from Lipless in the bar if Peter successfully convinces him that he remembers their friendship. Exploring the emporium doesn't change the story or add collectibles, but it is packed with Easter Eggs that Marvel comics fans should understand.

If running low on money, players can actually win 1000 Units by playing the cup and ball game with the floating brain-looking creature. Just don't play another round, or it will cheat Peter out of 1500 Units instead.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
