Eidos Montreal's upcoming Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has quite a bit going for it thanks to its use of the popular movie franchise of the same name. So, obviously to maximize on that star-studded Guardians of the Galaxy hype, Square Enix has released several movie-like posters in order to show off the new looks of the familiar characters in the upcoming game.

Considering the initial response to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy during Square Enix's E3 showcase, the publisher and developer Eidos Montreal have some mixed feelings from fans to parse over. With that being the case, these new posters could do a lot to get the visual splendor of the upcoming title front and center for fans of previous Marvel games and films on board for this new title.

These new posters showcase each of the Guardians with some of their signature weapons in hand, getting ready to duke it out with the alien monsters and villains players will find throughout the games. Additionally, it gives a much closer look at the new versions of these Guardians of the Galaxy characters, which might be a good move to get players more familiar with their new designs. Checking out the posters without the comparisons in mind as well, shows off the level of detail that Eidos Montreal went to in order to bring the comic book versions of these characters to life.

Fans have already begun flocking to some of these images, with the new version of Groot standing out as the one with the most community engagement. This is likely due to the complete overhaul that he has received for the game over the version of Groot from the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy that bakes quite a bit more personality into what is already a fan-favorite character. However, the same can likely be said for the other characters as well, with each of these close-up looks at the designs putting the upcoming title's best foot forward.

Looking at what Eidos Montreal has shown so far of Guardians of the Galaxy, it appears that the developer plans to take the best aspects of Marvel's Avengers for a more single-player focused adventure. That includes the incredible visuals that have already brought fan-favorite characters to life in a way where the player is in control of Marvel's best heroes. Of course, that does also mean that the Marvel's franchise of games could be riding on getting players excited for the Guardians of the Galaxy, which could lead to a continued focus on characters and visuals leading up to release.

Marvel's Guardian's of the Galaxy is set to release on October 26, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
