Marvel's Avengers has added new costumes regularly since launch, with many based on how the characters' appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Sometimes the Marvel's Avengers skins take inspiration from comic book sources instead, which is the case with the new Capwolf skin that's coming to the live-service game soon as a way to celebrate the Halloween season.

Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the Capwolf skin, based on a comic from 1992 (Captain America issue 405), is coming to Marvel's Avengers on October 21. The skin essentially makes Captain America look like a werewolf, making it one of the most extravagant skins that the game has added to date. Those interested in the new Captain America werewolf skin will be able to purchase it from the game's marketplace tomorrow. Pricing information and an exact release time are not available at the time of this writing.

While this new Captain America werewolf skin in Marvel's Avengers is one of the game's most extravagant yet, it should be pointed out that it's not exactly accurate to the comic book version. In the comic book, Capwolf's fur is brown, but in the game, it looks white. It's unclear why this change was made.

It will be interesting to see if any other Marvel's Avengers characters get special Halloween skins. There are decades of comic books to draw inspiration from, though the Marvel Zombies line of books seem like they would be the easiest to pull from. And with the concept recently featured in the What If...? Disney+ series, it would make even more sense to have a zombie skin or two for the Marvel's Avengers characters.

There's more content coming to Marvel's Avengers in the near future that fans of the game should be aware of. The first Marvel's Avengers Raid is coming to the game soon, and it will feature Klaw as the primary antagonist. Those on PlayStation can also look forward to Spider-Man coming to Marvel's Avengers, which has been a long time coming.

It will be interesting to see if Marvel's Avengers gets any significant new content beyond what's been confirmed by its roadmap. Marvel's Avengers had a rough start and struggled to maintain an audience, but the game has enjoyed a recent boost thanks to its Xbox Game Pass debut. The Marvel's Avengers XP boost microtransactions have drummed up some controversy, though, and it's possible the backlash will derail the game's new momentum. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out.

Marvel's Avengers is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
