Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have done an incredible amount of work to turn around Marvel's Avengers since the game's troubled launch. Even now, a year and a half later, there remains notable issues with Marvel's Avengers, and even now, Crystal Dynamics continues to make improvements. Crystal Dynamics will soon be updating Marvel's Avengers, making dramatic changes to the game's core War Table system and bringing back Nick Fury. The War Table lies at the heart of the Marvel's Avengers experience. From the War Table, players are able to view what missions they have available, as well as what progression lays in front of them. Crystal Dynamics believes the War Table can be improved, though. As part of its upcoming update, the War Table will be reworked with a focus on "streamlining missions" to improve player experience. If everyone playing Marvel's Avengers has to use the War Table, Crystal Dynamics wants it to be as optimal an experience as possible.RELATED: Marvel's Avengers Adds Infinity War Spider-Man OutfitAs for what reworking the War Table means in specific, the big change is that missions will no longer change every 15 minutes. Drop Zones and Threat Sector missions will instead stay on the War Table at all times. HIVES will unlock as players reach tiers of power levels, as well as recommended power limits. Vaults will also be seen on the War Table, regardless of whether a quest has been picked up. Similarly, Vaults are also always on the War Table, as are HARM Rooms until they're completed.

There are some more dramatic changes to the War Table, too, the biggest of which is a selection of six entirely new missions to play. Two Threat Sectors, two Drop Zones, a Vault, and an Elite Villain Sector will be available with the new update. Lastly, Flashback Missions that ended with a boss fight have been replaced with Threat Sectors so that no Flashback will have a boss.

As for the return of Nick Fury, the head of SHIELD will be part of Marvel's Avengers' new onboarding rework. In other words, new Marvel's Avengers players will get a tutorial from Nick Fury when they open the War Table for the first time, as well as during various tutorial videos and missions. There's also a fresh path for new players to follow when unlocking content.

It's surprising, to say the least, that Crystal Dynamics is reworking Marvel's Avengers' early game and War Table so late after the game's launch. It would perhaps imply that the game expects an influx of new players soon, which is an interesting prospect. The new update arrives March 24. After that, it'll be interesting to see what Crystal Dynamics has planned next.

Marvel's Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
