Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are continuing their celebration of the Marvel's Avengers' second anniversary by giving away three iconic superhero outfits to all owners of the base game. The game has received a remarkably wide variety of character outfits since its inception, and fans of the original Marvel films can now look forward to unlocking some of them at no additional charge.

Namely, this is a continuation of Marvel's Avengers anniversary celebrations, where players are being treated to a huge array of bonuses until September 15. Some of these include substantial Marketplace discounts, increased XP and resource drops, as well as improved odds of Loot Frenzy mission events, and with just a few days to go until the festivities are good and done, interested players ought to jump in and make good use of the bonuses.

While the majority of the aforementioned boons will be winding down on September 15, the three free superhero outfits will remain accessible until October 1. Specifically, players can claim the original armor from the first Marvel Studios' Thor film, Captain America's combat suit from The Avengers, and Iron Man's classic flight suit from Iron Man 2. It may be worth pointing out that some players want fewer MCU outfits in Marvel's Avengers, so the three suits that are being given away might not be up to everyone's tastes.

Since the game first came out, the developers have invested lots of time and effort into releasing film suits, as was the case with Captain America's Winter Soldier armor in Marvel's Avengers from earlier this year. It's understandable that comic book fans would prefer for Creative Assembly to draw upon other sources, instead, but it's a simple statement of fact that MCU films are remarkably acclaimed and popular.

In any case, the three outfits that are being given out are way more context-appropriate than Marvel's Avengers summer skins, which may seem rather awkward in comparison. It was to be expected that the game would receive a whole slew of wacky outfits sooner or later, of course. At the very least, the armor that's now free to claim should be practically universally appealing to most players, whereas this certainly wouldn't be the case with the game's jokier outfits.

While the anniversary content is neat on its own, many players are wondering about Marvel's Avengers' Patrol Mode, and whether it's releasing anytime soon. This presumably substantial new game mode was supposed to launch sometime during the Summer but seems to have missed its mark by now. That being said, it's also possible that the developer is waiting for the anniversary hype to die down before releasing such a major new piece of content.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
