Last month, Marvel's Avengers revealed its plans for future developments and updates in the coming months. The first major revealed gameplay addition, the Tachyon Anomaly, has been announced to be coming to Marvel's Avengers next week.

Tachyon Anomaly brings unique missions that allow players to use multiples of the same character, either through making parties with friends or matchmaking into games. Normally missions in Marvel's Avengers can only be tackled by groups made up of one instance of each hero, but Tachyon Anomalies can be completed with more unusual teams such as four different Hulks or Captain Americas.

The event will run for two weeks, from April 22 to May 3, with everything being removed from the game afterward. It will allow players to earn special gear and cosmetic rewards, and Marvel's Avengers will add a new mission chain every week that rewards Hivemind set gear, as well as rotating daily missions that offer up priority set gear for players' high-level heroes. The first weekly chain of missions will also reward an animated nameplate that can be used by any hero. Hero-specific animated nameplates will also be available through the in-game marketplace, with the first week including Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Hulk, leaving the second week with Iron Man, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, and Kate Bishop.

The event will also bring with it new Tachyon Rift Missions that will rotate daily for heroes from power level one to 100. Those missions are usually available for players that are at least level 140, with only one being available each week. These missions are the only way for players to get cosmic-level gear that lets heroes regain health through dealing damage, so this part of the event is a great way for lower and higher-level players alike to get some powerful gear ahead of Marvel's Avengers' future content.

The Tachyon Anomaly event should be a lot of fun for Marvel's Avengers players, and it comes ahead of new events coming this spring and summer, the new patrol mode, and Black Panther's arrival to Marvel's Avengers through the game's War for Wakanda event. While the addition of Spider-Man for PlayStation versions of the game has yet to receive a release window, the Tachyon Anomaly event is a great time for players to jump in and get some exciting loot for the future.

Marvel's Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
