During the War Table livestream, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics played a trailer revealing the story of Marvel's Avengers game. The trailer showed the main cast of the Avengers while also introducing the new villain of the game and giving players a glimpse of Kamala Khan, a new superhero that aids the Avengers in the game as they fight a growing evil.

While fans have been seeing bits and pieces of Marvel's Avengers, there hasn't been a story trailer showcasing all of these elements together. However, the War Table stream changed that today. Along with releasing footage of Thor's abilities and new skins for Iron Man, the livestream also revealed this new trailer along with new details of the plot of the game.

In the aftermath of the events of A-Day, things changed for the Avengers and other superheros. A toxic gas covered San Fransisco, making the city become a quarantined zone. The gas effected the people in the area, giving them superhuman abilities which some used in harmful ways. A new program called AIM was created to try to cure superheros, who the voice in the trailer refer to as "in-humans," of their abilities. However, Kamala Khan, a fan of the Avengers who was affected by the A-Day gas, discovers a conspiracy within AIM's efforts to fix superhumans.

One by one, Kamala finds the remaining Avengers and brings them back together to fight the villain who threatens life as they know it. However, the Avengers have a difficult time trying to work together and once again call upon the question: Would the world be safer without superheroes like them? Fans will have to play the game when it releases on September 4 to find out the answer to that question that has been brought up multiple times in the Marvel franchise.

The stream Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics showed fans other new content they can expect to see when the games comes out in the fall. Fans saw exciting Avengers gameplay, and gamers will soon be able to play as the Marvel characters in this action-packed superhuman adventure story.

Marvel's Avengers releases on September 4 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
