Marvel’s Avengers has a majority of its 2021 content planned out, ranging from this week’s Tachyon Anomaly event to the massive War for Wakanda expansion at the end of the year. With an in-depth content roadmap, the game seems to be on track to keep its remaining player base interested — and maybe even win over some new gamers in the process. Perhaps the most anticipated content is the PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man DLC, as many are waiting to see how the webslinger plays in the Crystal Dynamics title.

While there is plenty to love about the friendly neighborhood hero, one of the biggest reasons that Spider-Man has become as iconic as he has is his signature costume. While his powers are fun and Peter Parker has always succeeded at being a lovable everyman, the eyes, webbing, and symbol have truly defined who the hero is. Over the years, Spidey has received some awesome alternate costumes as well, and Marvel’s Avengers could benefit from including some of these skins in the game.

Symbiote Suit

Arguably the most iconic Spider-Man costume outside of the classic red and blue design, the Symbiote suit is usually associated with a darker Peter Parker. A slick black costume formed by the same alien parasite that would eventually turn Eddie Brock into Venom, the outfit amplifies Spidey’s powers and makes him more dangerous than ever before. While no gameplay advantage would likely be seen if the skin came to Marvel’s Avengers, it would serve as a must-have addition for fans of the webhead. With fans constantly sharing unique Symbiote designs online, Crystal Dynamics could surely put a fun twist of their own on the suit.

Spider-Man 2099

This futuristic Spider-Man 2099 is not actually Peter Parker, but is instead a man named Miguel O’Hara. Despite this, the suit has appeared in several Spidey games, and Marvel’s Avengers should keep the trend alive. The original suit sees an entirely blue costume with a red symbol, eyes, and spikes on the arms. In the Marvel Now! era, Miguel was seen sporting a similar costume, only this time swapping the blue coloring with a white look. Both suits would be a great fit for Marvel’s Avengers, giving Spidey some more unique attire to fight in. With Spider-Man 2099 set to show up on the big screen in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2, getting his suit inside the game sooner rather than later would be nice.

Spider-Man Noir

Spider Man Noir - Fortnite Marvel Costumes Theories

Spider-Man Noir is a dark version of Peter Parker from the 1940s. His entire comics run features a black and white art style, and it sees Peter killing at a few points. With dark twists that see Vulture becoming a cannibal and Doctor Octopus experimenting on innocent people, the change up tone provided by the Noir run sees it remembered fondly by fans. Peter also gets a stylish black and white costume in the books, with some unique goggles and a more realistic style of suit. When Spider-Man comes to Marvel's Avengers, seeing this outfit accompany him would be a nice surprise. With a possible variant that includes the hat and trench coat of Noir, this would be a standout addition to the game.

Miles Morales

While Peter Parker is believed to be the version of the hero Crystal Dynamics will add to Marvel’s Avengers, seeing Miles Morales’ costume get some love would be a solid compromise. With the hero becoming more mainstream in recent years due to the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, many have fallen in love with Miles’ costume. Seeing the sleek black and red suit as an alternate costume would be terrific, and if Crystal Dynamics wanted to go the extra mile, adding in an alternate voice that plays whenever the look is equipped could make the DLC even better.

Iron Spider

A crucial costume in Spidey’s history, the Iron Spider suit was made by Tony Stark — and it could easily be worked into the Marvel’s Avengers storyline because of that. After all, Iron Man has made suits for the rest of The Avengers in this universe, with the team donning the armored getups as the campaign reached its finale. While the Iron Spider’s origins were tied to the Civil War event in the comics, seeing Stark make the suit as a gift for his teammate would be a perfectly fine explanation. While the extra legs may need to be saved for an emote, as not all suits have them, the metallic look and Iron Man-inspired color scheme would justify the skin’s inclusion.

Superior Spider-Man

If Crystal Dynamics did want to incorporate the additional legs in its design for Spider-Man, then the Superior Spider-Man suit joining the Iron Spider outfit would be essential. Worn by Peter Parker’s nemesis Doctor Octopus after the villain assumes control over Spidey’s body, the outfit boasts a very different black and red pattern to what is seen in Miles’ suit. Covering the bottom half in black and the top half in red, the look is perfected with some pitch black eyes — a great contrast to the usual white eyes of the webslinger.

Scarlet Spider

While the proper Ben Reilly suit is a great Spider-Man design, the clone’s Scarlet Spider costume remains his most memorable look. This is for good reason, as the loose jacket and lack of webbing on the suit differentiate this costume from the others. A sideways Spider symbol truly makes the costume different from the rest, with the casual design style rarely ever being seen in Spider-Man designs. With possible variants seeing the suit with and without the hood, giving this underrated costume time in the spotlight would be terrific.

MCU Suits

Marvel’s Avengers fans will finally start to see the premium MCU suits roll out with the Red Room Takeover event, and when Spidey joins the roster of heroes, he deserves this same level of love. Tom Holland’s take on Spidey has seen the young Peter Parker rocking several different looks, ranging from the Scarlet Spider-like homemade suit to the new black and red suit. With a classic variant, the “Night Monkey” design, and a unique take on Iron Spider also seen, there are plenty of MCU looks that could be introduced.

Insomniac’s Advanced Suit

Rounding out the list is none other than Insomniac’s Advanced Suit. The large white symbol makes this costume distinct, and while Crystal Dynamics’ Peter Parker is confirmed to be different from Insomniac’s, seeing Marvel’s Avengers pay homage to this suit would be lovely. With Spider-Man exclusive to PlayStation, the door should be open for this small crossover to take place. While it is not the most likely of costume additions, this design could easily steal the show if it were worked into Marvel’s Avengers. With so many great options, though, the expansion seems like a guaranteed success in terms of cosmetics.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
